Al-An'am 6:68 Wa-itha raayta allatheena yakhoodoona fee 3yatina faa3Arid 3anhum hatta yakhoodoo fee hadeethin ghayrihi wa-imma yunsiyannaka alshshaytanu fala taq3Aud ba3Ada alth[b]thikr3a[/b] ma3Aa alqawmi alththalimeena When thou seest men engaged in vain discourse about Our signs, turn away from them unless they turn to a different theme. slm, ok so now what exactly is the distinction between dhikr and udhkur? if i understand it correctly, dhikr is more like a noun and udhkur is a verb ??? or not? err... help! :o

[slm] Meraj, I think you're right. Udhkur is a command to *perform the act of dhikr* Dhikr is the act, a noun, which means recollection or remembrance.
