2:145 Even if thou wert to bring to the people of the Book all the Signs (together), they would not follow Thy Qibla; nor art thou going to follow their Qibla; nor indeed will they follow each other's Qibla. If thou after the knowledge hath reached thee, Wert to follow their (vain) desires,-then wert thou Indeed (clearly) in the wrong. wa la'in ataytallazeena ootul kitaaba bikulli aayatin maa tabi'oo qiblataka ... 57:16 Has not the Time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has been revealed (to them), and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors. alam ya'ni lillazeena aamanoo an takhsha'a quloobuhum li zikrillaahi wa maa nazala minal haqqi wa laa yakoonoo kallazeena ootul kitaaba min qablu ... 98:4 Nor did the People of the Book make schisms, until after there came to them Clear Evidence. wa maa tafarra qallazeena ootul kitaaba illaa min ba'di maa jaa'at-humul bayyinah |

slm Sorry but there is a mistake here ,ootoo is not come or bring: Allathina ootoo al-kitab People of the book(the ones who have been given the book). So here ootoo is given. *come means "ata" bring means "aata", "aataynahum"=(bring unto them). |

slm llazeena, zikrillahi the pronounciation of the letter "thal" is wrong,it should always be "th" and not "z",because 'z' is in the local dialect of Hijaz(saudi arabia) and Egypt ,but not the right arabic where we must take the tongue out to have a perfect "thal". So the two words should be : allatheena and: thikrillahi. |

slm Yes, it is difficult to get the correct pronounciation in the transliteration. I try to be consistent with my transliteration but often letters clash. For example, I use 'z' for both the arabic letters dhaal and zaay because I use th and zh for other letters. Okay, I think let me write down the rough transliteration scheme I use. a, i, u = alif ' = hamza b = baa t = taa th = thaa j = jeem h = haa kh = khaa d = daal z = dhaal r = raa z = zaay s = seen sh = sheen s = saad dh = daad t = taa zh = zhaa ' = ayn gh = ghayn f = faa q = qaaf k = kaaf l = laam m = meem n = noon h = haa w = waaw y = yaa Long vowels = aa, ee, oo |

slm I have this book called "Learning arabic step by step approach to reading and writing arabic" by Mohi el-Din Saleh. In it the transliteration he uses dashes over the vowels, and the only mistake was when he used z for the letter thaa(letter no.17): alif ba' ta' tha' jim ha' kha' dal dhal(I prefer thal) ra' zai sin shin sad dad(I prefer dhad) ta' za'(tha sounds nearer to the arabic) 'ain ghin fa' kaf kaf(I prefer khaff) lam mim nun ha' waw ya' *Isn't there a way where you can use french accents or dots on top of some letters?? I have another suggestion, mashallah this site is big and I think you have the audiovisual available, why not have some of these difficult letters available in audio too?? |
