wlm, Try to make them up asap. It's disliked to fast the last 15 days or so, so you can prepare for ramadan. But if you have make-ups to do, do them. |

Sunan Abu-Dawud Book 13, Number 2320: Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Do not fast one day or two days just before Ramadan except in the case of a man who has been in the habit or observing a fast (on that day); and do not fast until you sight it (the moon). Then fast until you sight it. If a cloud appears on that day (i.e. 29th of Ramadan) then complete the number thirty (days) and then end the fasting: a month consists of twenty-nine days. Book 13, Number 2319: Narrated Hudhayfah: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Do not fast (for Ramadan) before the coming of the month until you sight the moon or complete the number (of thirty days); then fast until you sight the moon or complete the number (of thirty days). |

These are Rulings on Purity and Prayer by Shaykh Aal 'Uthaymeen. Q. What is required of women who begin fasting Ramadaan without making up days missed from their previous Ramadaan? A. They are required to turn to Allah in sincere repentance for what they have done because it is not permissable to delay making up missed days until after the following Ramadaan without a valid excuse. Aa'ishah said, "Sometimes I would not be able to make up for days missed in Ramadaan until the month of Sha'baan. [the month before Ramadan] This indicates that it is not allowable to delay making up missed days until after the following Ramadaan. Those who have done so should repent, make up the missed days after Ramadaan and not repeat this prohibited practice. I found this in "Islamic Rules on Menstruation and Post-Natal Bleeding" by Abu Ameenah Bilal Phillips. |
