yeah keep on going boyos... you better watch out making us out to be cow herders you might one day receive dead cow heads in the mail!!

by the way i'm pretty surprised that this is coming from

1. a person who intentionally lives in a place over earthquake fault lines, that has mudslides, floods, droughts, fires and electricity deficiency on a regular basis.

2. a person who lives in a place that has winter 11 out of 12 months of the year, no 24 hour supermarkets, no post offices on weekends and no coco puffs...

it's sad really, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones :(

Asalaam alaikum wrt wb,

Coco puffs?  How come that cereal is so popular, I can't believe how many people I have heard say they like it.

Se7en- those pictures Ali has of shooting hoops aren't even on a real basketball court, its on a tennis court.

Yep, no doubt, California rocks, we got the earthquakes to prove it! :)

Asalaam alaikum wrt wb,

Thank you Kathy for confirming my suspicions, cow tipping is illegal!!!  Perhaps this is why Jannah is avoiding this topic and doesn't want it discussed? ???

As salaamu alaykum.
The scenerio even gets worse- or funnier, depends on your perspective in life.
A couple of years ago a farmer woke up and found a couple of his cows dead by gunshot.
Apparently a couple of "city slickers" from New York City were up here on a hunting trip. The "hunters" thought they were deer...

Arshad, do you even know what a cow looks like?  You'd probably tip over a mailbox by mistake...

Asalaam alaikum wrt wb,

You know I could totally see how the "city slickers" mistook a cow for a deer.  See, if the cow was brown (remember that nursery rhyme, how now brown cow?) and deer are supposedly brown, how can you tell them apart?  I am not talking about the male deer with the antlers, the female ones I think don't have antlers.

This deer hunting is popular I guess in the east coast and midwest, right?  Its a foreign concept out here.

Se7en you are probably right, I would have a hard time telling what a cow is.

Assalamoalykum,

Personallay, I like cows. They are so sweet. And YUMMY too. They have these huge innocent, droopy eyes...

One time I got chased by a cow in Pakistan. I missed the bus and was walking home. It was a four mile long walk and I was very tired by the second mile. Some cow broke the fence in some field and starting chasing me. my bro was with me, instead of protecting me he fled the other way and the cow decided to chase him then. :D

Anyway that's the closest I have ever come to a cow and never want to come any closer!
thought I might share a cow experience.

Assalaamu alaikum,

Saleema, was that a cow or a water buffalo? You know those black huge things? Cows are usually mild and I can't imagine a cow chasing someone. :)

The buffalos, however, are not that mild! I've had many close encountered with them too. :)

Wasalaam.

Bro, just try and walk down any street in Pakistan during the days of Dhul-Hijjah (Eid-ul-Adha)...you'll realize how violent these cows can be when they see a knife!!!

Cows escaping houses onto the streets and running frantically towards the highway is a scene all too common in Karachi during Eid.

Assalaamu alaikum,

Hahahaha..! Don't remind me of those scenes! Eid-al-Adha is like a big community butcher house. Every house has some sheep, goats, cows, camels (well, I haven't seen this one :)) and once the prayers are over it reall gets ugly. Not to mention the smell that lingers on for weeks. :)

Actually, cows, buffalos, sheeps roam the streets at ALL times, not just during Eid. :)

Asalaam alaikum wrt wb,

I haven't been to Pakistan during Eid, it must be a lot of fun?  The cows that I did see in Pakistan were really thin come to think of it.  Those big black buffalos were scary!!!  I remember once I was in Islamabad and one was like 30 feet away and it stared at me and I said oh oh, is this thing going to charge or what. ???  Fortunately for me it didn't do a thing.

Se7en, I got nothing to worry about, no cows out here. :)

COWBOY-RATOR
by Roberta Fulford

A man was driving down a country road in the middle of dairy farm country when his car stalled inexplicably. He got out and raised the hood to see if he could find out what had happened.

A brown and white cow slowly lumbered from the field she had been grazing in over to the car and stuck her head under the hood beside the man.

After a moment the cow looked at the man and said, "Looks like a bad carburetor to me." Then she walked back into the field and began grazing again.

Amazed, the man walked back to the farmhouse he had just passed, where he met a farmer. "Hey, mister, is that your cow in the field?" he asked.

The farmer replied, "The brown and white one? Yep, that's old Bessie."

The man then said, "Well my car's broken down, and she just said, 'Looks like a bad carburetor to me.'"

The farmer shook his head and said, "Don't mind old Bessie, son. She don't know a thing about cars."

Carburetor is a component of a car.  So when it was said Cowboyretor, it was poking fun of the word, cows, and the situation described in the story.  :)

Salaams,

Am I the only one who doesn't actually know what cow tipping is? As soon as I saw the title I imagined cows being tipped into this Huge skip. Yes, ridiculous, I know.

bhaloo, please explain.

Sheikha, when cows go to sleep, they sleep standing up.  So some people go around and push ("tip") the cows till they fall over on their side.  One can imagine what sort of commotion this might cause.  I don't happen to live in an area that is filled with cows, but perhaps Jannah will explain about some of the dangers she's encountered or heard of when the cows were tipped over.  ;)

Assalamu Alaikum,

Sis Jannah, kindly reconsider and keep posting those silly cow jokes.  They are extremely cute and witty.  A source of entertainment for most of us on this message board.

Do I hear someone seconding me on this?

I second that. ;)

Sheikha- cow tipping actually happens.  Why would people actually do this?  Well some places don't have that much to offer people, so they get creative, I guess.

What if you think that the cow is sleeping and you go to tip it, and it is in fact awake and starts to chase you around the field?

Isn't this a dangerous sport?

Yes, that is the danger involved in cow tipping.  There are probably some people on this board that have had experience in this matter.

I don't know why this thread was moved from the Albanyian forum, it was the most popular thread in that forum. :(
