| as-salaam alaikum, Here is an official statement from the Chechen Government regarding Hisham Kabbani and his invitation and hosting of Russian quisling Kadyrov to the United States. In the past Kabbani has made comments in support of Russian aggression against Muslims, has tried to whip up anti-Islamic sentiment through deliberate lying to the US state department, and has claimed that mujahideen are involved in prostitution and drug-dealing. He has consistently shown himself to be an enemy of the Muslims, and an enemy of Allah. This invitation and hosting of the leader of the munafiqeen in Chechnya, Kadyrov, should be seen as nothing more than a deliberate attempt by Kabbani and his organisations to drum up support for the Putin regime and to hoodwink Muslims and non-Muslims into accepting Russian domination and oppression of the Chechen people as valid and justifiable. [snip] In the name of Allah the Compassionate, the Merciful CHECHEN REPUBLIC OF ICHKERIA MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS Press Release 10-687 8/12/2000 On 10th August 2000, the General Secretary of the Islamic Supreme Council of America, Dr. Hedieh Mirahmadi issued a statement informing about a planned visit by Mr. Kadyrov to the US, which is organised by the Islamic Supreme Council (ISC) and its Chairman, Shaykh Hisham Kabbani. The statement falsely describes Mr Kadyrov as “a close personal friend of current Chechen President Aslan Maskhadov” and as “loyal to the cause of the Chechen people”. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria finds it totally unacceptable that the ISC decided to support Mr Kadyrov, who is directly responsible for the genocide of the Chechen people. Ever since Russia started its present aggression against the ChRI, Mr Kadyrov has been trying to mislead the International Community and to justify Russian terror against the Chechen people. From the beginning of the Russian brutal aggression, Mr. Kadyrov has publicly supported Russian troops that have been committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Chechen people. In April 2000 at the 56th session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, Mr Kadyrov openly lied saying that there were “no violations of Human Rights by the Russian Troops in Chechnya”. The State Security Service of the ChRI has obtained reliable evidence proving that Mr. Kadyrov has long been working for the Russian FSB and has a rank of colonel of the FSB and a covering name “Adam”. He is also directly responsible for deliberately creating religious intolerance and extreme tensions among Chechens from 1996 to 1999. Moreover, Mr Kadyrov has organised several assassination attempts against President Aslan Maskhadov, and he is wanted by the Chechen Law Enforcement Agencies on several charges varying from treason to attempted murder. The MFA urges American friends of the Chechen people not to be misled by Mr Kadyrov and those who decided to support him.
