The headlines of 22nd november 2000

WASHINGTON, Nov 21: The United States on Tuesday announced sanctions under the Missile Control Technology regime against the Pakistani Ministry of Defence and the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Organization (SUPARCO) while lifting similar sanctions against China.

This measure has been taken to stop the arms race in South Asia. The sactions lifted from the country who produces the arms and imposed on the one who purchases them. What a just solution to the problem.

The Americans are constantly trying to prove the fact mentioned in our Holy Quran, that "Christian and Jews can never be your friends". I wonder when the Muslim Ummah will learn a lesson.

I pray that may ALLAH give Pakistan the courage to rely on their own resources for their defence and may ALLAH make Pakistan a source of pride for the Muslim Nation.

What can WE do about people messing with our homeland??? Especially if we live in the US..of course we can always get upset and outraged when "OUR country" does something to our other country...but I think the fact that we are here, and that we may never move back just shows our own abandonment of the country we "love".

Assalamoalykum,

LOL. That's strange, lifting up the sanctions from China but imposing them on Pakistan. China's going to help them behind the US's back as they have always been doing despite having a permanent seat at the UN.

Anyway, Pakistan recently built a super war plane all by themselves and now they need a radar system. They are hoping to get it from Brazil; they have one of the best radar systems right now that can detect enemy aircraft in strong light and darkness. Better than China or US. I'm pretty sure that they will give the radar system to Pakistan because the Latino countries despise the US just as much as the other countries all the way across on the other side of the world do. They both have something in common to work towards, building a better army and technology and get out of the debt that the US, IMF, etc are drowning them in. All the third world countries are suffering the same setbacks created by the same people. Venezuela supports the Palestinians and the President considers them as his "brethren." I think that’s how the other Latino countries feel too.

The reason that the US lifted the embargo from China is because they have now joined the World Trade Organization and the US clearly sees that doing business with them is better than imposing sanctions on them cus it will bring in lots and lots of money. Same with India. By putting the sanctions on them they have made it tough for the Pakistan. But not tough enough, you can always find a way around. I am sure the US think tanks are at work around the clock wondering how they can put a stop to the Pakistani/Brazil relationship. The first thing they are going to try is diplomatic pressure, then blackmail, we will see if Brazil is strong enough to survive through this.

Assalam,
That's not true. A lot of us were born and raised here. And I don't know about everyone else-but my parents moved to the U.S. in 1975 for a "better life" And it's a lot safer here than there. Believe it or not.
If my family still lived in Palesine-our sitiution
wouldn't be all that great.
But since we live in the U.S. don't we have an advantage to help those countries in need?

Now excuse me for sounding ignorant, but can someone explain the deal between india and Pakistan? How did this start, etc. I really do not know much about this topic.

Assalam alaikum

Dear sister Sara, I did not undestand the meaning of "deal". If you are asking about the cause of hatred between the two nations then the creation of Pakistan itself is the cause of it. There are matters which are still unresolved between India and Pakistan afetr their independence in 1947. The major being Kashmir.

To tell you the truth, India is another Isreal who wants to crush Muslims.

Assalam ualykum,

When I talk about loving Pakistan what I mean is that I love the people, my muslims brothers and sisters. So I love Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan...

Just because people have left their homelands doesn't mean that they don't love their countries. Many left for fear of being political prisoners in their homelands, many more left for economic reasons.

Muslims can help Muslims by giving service, zakat, sadqah, and LIFE, no matter where you are staying at.

I knew a girl who's boyfriend went to fight in Kosova from here. He was a non-Muslim but he couldn't stand not doing anything so he said goodbye to everyone and went to fight illegaly.

wassalam
