I'm posting some of my older stuff, by request. --- BELOVED The music filtered through the thin walls, flowing and cascading around her straining ears. The tempo increased and crashed in a dramatic climax of sound and emotion. She breathed. She waited. Her eyes closed and memories flew through her mind. Images and sounds from her life, made their way, marching from the deep recesses of her memory. The music softened, and in it she heard despair that rang parallel to her own. The voice called to her, left her with her throat strained and her heart beating fast. She felt hollow, empty, void of true emotion. Deaf and sheltered from the deep pain and emotion one could feel, in searching for another. She contemplated her limited interaction with those she loved, and wondered what it would be like to love someone so much it brought such agony. Her eyes closed tight to her surroundings, she focused on what it would be like to love, and to yearn. She breathed. She waited. The music began to fade, into a soft dramatic ending with a glimpse at living a life haunted by one's memories of love. She opened her eyes wide, and allowed herself once again to grasp her surroundings. Her heart welled up, and tears began to drift slowly from her eyes down her cheeks, as realization came. She had encountered love that moved far beyond attraction and chemistry. She had loved, and desired love more strongly than any star-crossed lover ever could. Because her beloved was not one who would die, or who was unjust. And her life was devoted to attaining His love. Her love was Almighty Allah, and nothing could compare to that. She breathed. She waited. The music was gone. Forgotten in the acknowledgemant of something better. In its place she heard the adhaan, calling her to her beloved, to success. And she rose to answer it. She waited no more. -end- --- TRUST "Ah! woe is me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend!" [25:28] - - The dim glow of mid day reflected off the deep shadows of his room. The rain fell. In it was heard the whisper of a threat, the reminder of something powerful. His eyes burned, from too much sleep. He walked outside, letting the chilled droplets leave indentations in his clothes, his eyes fixed to the ground. He walked for a long time, unaware of his surroundings, of the noise, of the people giving him curious glances. He walked, eyes remaining steady, hearing only his own footsteps and his hollow thoughts echoing in the silence. Man has the innate need to trust. But why is it that the ones we trust always betray us? Because they are human as well, and weak. Suddenly he looked up, letting his eyes adjust to the immense gray that was the sky. So we are weak. But I have never convinced others to sin. I have never convinced others to disobey Allah. I have never betrayed someone. I have earned trust. The sky opened up, and lightning flashed. A memory flooded his mind, as the sidewalk around him began to flood with water, lapping at his feet, moving in a swirling pattern. He spoke, murmuring to himself, " No authority has he (shaytan, the rejected one) over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord." His eyes filled with tears, as the world around him filled with water. I have earned no trust. I deserve nothing. This pain which I have gone through, this hurt that I feel, is nothing but a purification from sin. My purification, as the world is purified by rain. This difficulty, this trial is nothing but a rahmaa, from Allah, Lord of the Worlds. And I am grateful for it. His gaze lowered, he made his way home. -end- --- Just Wait You live your life in darkness We struggle toward the light We strive for purification of the heart You hide your sins under the darkness of night Behind your charming smile lies a heart darkened with sin behind that gleaming surface You're really dying within Your lust and greed consume you Your lies and deception prevail but on that day, when you will be judged on that day you will be the ones that fail you see whats going on around you murder, rape, hypocricy and sin think you're gonna get away with it you may plot, but Allah always wins Your lies will be brought to light your deeds will be exposed to all you thought you were gonna live forever Now we're gonna watch you fall On that day your heart will be examined your deeds exposed, all your joys, your strife By the one who created you and caused you to die He will be the one who will judge your life Your dark oppression, the pain you caused the pain and bloodshed you deny all that which you caused to suffer on earth will bear witness against you, all your lies your shiny little world will be broken with the harsh reality of that which is true all that you have done and forgotten on that day you'll receive that which you are due You thought you'd turn into dust, That life was just a game you forgot to think about your actions and now your excuses just sound lame We lived our life struggling for good You lived your life in wrong and sin On that day we'll watch you lose on that day we will win we are the ones who strove for Allah Fisabilillah we've prayed and fought You think we'd let you do what you do Not knowing you'd get caught? Live your life the way you do don't think or reflect at all I fulfilled my duty, told you truth now its on you, whether you pass or fail Be of the strangers, Rasul (S) said this life is nothing but a test You think you are the winner but we are the successful, of the best This life is but goods and chattels of deception the true life is the world in the next and thats the life I'm preparing for May Allah keep me among the blessed. |
