| slm What did she say in her quote? Can someone type it up? Did they talk about the message board? If its the November/December issue I might have already read that and gotten rid of it. I can't believe Jannah didn't tell us about this already. |

| Assalamu alaikum, Aha! That quote is taken out of Sr. Huma's review of ISNA that she posted on the MSA-national mailing list. The review was also posted here on the board in the International Kabob House. The thread is called "ISNA - The good and the bad." "den mother" - that's so funny :D Wassalamu alaikum |

| Assalamu alaikum, Hmm. I just finished reading the article. Looks like Sr. Huma is not the only one from this board who's quoted in there. Right before her quote on p. 42 is a quote taken from my review in the Kabob House. And then on p. 48, 2nd column, there's a quote taken from se7en's review which is also in the Kabob House. They called me a "young attendee" in the article. They called se7en a "youthful attendee." I think those titles should be switched ;) I wonder if the author of the article is a Madina Citizen!?! |

| I bet OBA (Omar bin Abdullah -editor of horizons) wrote that. I've known him personally for a long while and he's ma'shallah pretty awesome. I did send him the review and I think he visited the site when there was a link to the reviews. He thought it was great that someone wrote a review and wanted the "higher ups" at isna to read it. Inshallah maybe next year whoever is involved can take our suggestions and ideas and put it into practice!! |

| slm I got the magazine yesterday and and saw Jannah's and Se7en's quotes, but didn't see Arsalan's quote? ??? That's pretty cool that they list the website. There were a lot of pictures from ISNA as well in the magazine. Did anyone end up getting their picture taken there? Arsalan? |

| Arshad, my quote is right before Huma's quote. It's the one about Shaikh Sudais. Incidently, I found another quote in there by another dear brother of ours on this board. Guess who? Asim. Two of his quotes appear in that article too. I forgot which page. They're towards the end though, about how the convention was overall good and how one comes out of the event with a resolve and good feeling. And no, my picture does not appear anywhere, alhamdulillah!!! Wassalamu alaikum. |

Our library listing shows the latest issue received as sep/oct and I don't want to make the trek to the main library just yet ;) I hope ISNA's officials consider the suggestions we made to improve the conventions in the future. That was the whole purpose of the thread. Hmmmm...maybe I should reconsider my subscription to Islamic Horizon :) Wasalaam. |

| slm You guys know what boy scouts and cub scouts are? Its what boys do after school, they sign up with the scouts and go camping and tell stories and do other outings. Moms typically look after the kids that do this and organize these events. They are called den mothers and look after things. :) |

| slm Let me explain it a little more. I think the lowest level of the scouts are called cub scouts. I think these are 7 and 8 year olds. You guys know how bears live in a cave or a den? Cubs are just baby bears, so a den mother is someone that looks after these little bears. I hope that made sense. :) |
