1)The other day I woke up to hear the Fajr azan.I was advised by my friend that Ican have the food that I had saved For suhoor as it may get spoilt   if I dont have it.Is this acceptable?
2)If I hear the azan while having suhoor,can I
  -swallow what`s in my mouth?
  -complete what`s in my plate?
  -or should stop eating?

Assalaamu Alaikum

I was going to post a reply until I saw jannah's post below

It really does have some great info. The relevant sections for your query would be 36-40 I would think.

As an aside does anyone know of any other Halal Toothpaste in the UK besides Colgate and out of interest do you brush your teeth whilst fasting?

Yesterday  I woke up (I had no alarm clock or anything) and for some reason I thought it was really ealry like 4:45 or 5am so I drnak a bit of water on my way to the kitchen. Then when I saw the closk in the kitchen it said 5:50!!! I drank past fajr but I was so groggy I didn't realize it was too late. I completed the fast but is it actually valid or do I have to make it up after Ramadan???

Salaam,

What if one oversleeps until way past fajr time?  Should they fast that day or miss it and make up the fast later on?

wlm,

why wouldn't you fast? suhoor is a sunnah not a requirement to fast?

In addition to what Jannah said, before you go to sleep at night, make the intention to fast, in case you wake up past the time for suhoor.

In the post Jannah did with the 70 things for Ramadan It said that it is not necessary to make your intentions for fasting everynight for Ramadan.  You should have make the intention for fasting during the month of Ramadan.  Which is correct?  I made that intention for the beginning of Ramadan and I was also making the intention every night until I re-read that post.
