| Reflections on the life and times of Prophet Muhammad (saw) True Examples of Love for our Prophet, (saw) On the day that Abu Bakr Assiddiq entered Makkah, three years before Hijrah, he was savegely beaten by the kufaar of Quraish. The Uthbah Ibn Rabi'ah continued beating him with a pair of shoes aiming for his face. Abu Bakr was bleeding so severely that his facial features could not be distinguished anymore and blood was rushing down to his belly. He was left for dead and was later carried to his house when no one doubted his death. At the end of the day he mumbled: "How is the Prophet of Allah (saw) doing?" His mother pleaeded with him to eat or drink something to regain his strength, but he refused and insisted on knowing how the Prophet (saw), was doing. His mother then told him: "I have no knowledge of your friend," he then asked her to go to Um Jamil bint al khattab and ask her about the Prophet (saw). Um Jamil said: "I do not know any Abu Bakr or Muhammad, but if you wish I will accompany you to your son." His mother accepted. When Um Jamil saw the condition of Abu Bakr she lost control of herself and started wailing. She said "Those who did this to you are indeed a people of kufr and I pray for Allah's wrath to descend upon them." He said "How is the Prophet (saw) doing?" "Your mother can hear us" she whispered, "Dont worry about her" he replied, Um Jamil then said "He (saw) is safe and sound." "Where is he?" asked Abu Bakr. Um Jamil answerd: In Darul Arqam. "Abu Bakr then said: "By Allah, I shall taste no food or drink untill I see him." The two women waited untill the streets quieted down, the carried Abu Bakr between them to the Prophet (saw).
