Good fiction?

I often find it difficult to locate good fiction books. What I mean is-good, clean, Islamically appropriate fiction books.  Most of the classic American and European literature has some sort of unappropriate theme. This is a problem for me since I love to read so much-all types of books. So, does anyone know of any good books that are ideal for pleasure reading?

as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatAllahi wa barakatuh,

Yes, I do really really *really* like Reshma Baig's The Memory of Hands.  It's so rare to find good Islamic fiction.  I most definitely recommend it.  You can find it here.

I came across it at the bazaar at ISNA.  The brother at the booth said "you should buy it, she's like the Muslim Toni Morrison".  Little did I know I was speaking to br. Yahiya Emerick, Muslim educator, activist, and sr. Reshma's husband :)

MashaAllah, they are both such awesome people, together they must be amazing.  Their kids must be off the wall :)

Another good work of Islamic fiction is by our very own Br. Abul Arifin!  Though he failed to mention it, he just got published, alhamdulillah.

You can find his book here.

:) wasalaam.
