| Another victim of Israeli torture die after long battle with paralysis ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Occupied Jerusalem: After a long battle with paralysis lasting for nine years, a Palestinian man who had been severely tortured by Israeli soldiers and settlers during the Palestinian uprising or intifada succumbed to death on Tuesday at the age of thirty four. The victim, Muhammed Abdul Jalil Saad, of the Askar Refugee camp near Nablus, suffered complete paralysis in 1991 as a result to the severe beating and torture he underwent at the hands of Israeli soldiers. According to his relatives, Israeli soldiers then dragged Saad from his grocery shop at the refugee camp and ordered him to clear the main street of stone hurdles and burning tires placed by intifada activists. After he removed the stones and the burning ties, however, the soldiers reportedly took him forcibly to the nearby settlement of Alon Moreh where they subjected him intensive beating and torture on his head and spinal cord, until he lost consciousness. The occupation soldiers then practiced the habit of kidnapping Palestinians to Jewish settlements where they would let settler youngsters beat and humiliate them in order to embolden them and make them unafraid of Arabs. Saad was then dumped on the main street the next morning in extremely gave condition. From the 1991 incident until his death yesterday, Saad was totally paralysed and lost the ability to speak. He was laid to rest at his refugee camp. |
