This will give Abu Khaled the false sense that we don't care about his riddles, when the reality is he is torturing us, uhhh, I mean, torturing you, Arsalan. Please Abu Khaled, for Arsalan's sake, he's been through a lot, give him the answers. :) |

| Wa-alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah, Lol! Of course brother Arshad, your only concern is a selfless one for brother Arsalan; how noble. You however, have no desire to know the answer, right? ;-) Honestly there is no trap, I'm just preoccupied right now, and only have time for brief posts like this. As for Brother Arsalan, for you I have absolutely *NO* sympathy whatsoever! For as I mentioned when posting the Brainiac, either it is really tough, or I am exceptionally thick. Then you stroll along, as casual as the next man, and reel off (correctly) the first part of the problem (i.e. C's mode of reasoning). Thus proving my- up till then doubtful reluctance to admit my true reality to myself- that I am indeed thick! So, yes, thanks for that brother. Lol! However, please allow me to twist the knife now in return, by informing you that your assumption that the one who correctly shouts out the colour of his hat is then lifted out, thereby changing the view for the others, is wrong. There is no reason to make such an assumption. Ha! So, wrestle on, and I am in no rush for you Sidi Arsalan. I'm off to seek counselling to come to terms with the fact that I am a dunce. Lol. | Assalamu alaikum, I am puxzled as to which assumption you are referring. By definition, person D can see both B and C. Thus when 2 people (C and A) have identified the colour of their hats, and given that there are 2 white hats and 2 black ones in total, D can identify his colour by process of ellmination and the knowledge of B's colour. B of course is the last to figure out his colour. So I guess you were right from the start Arsalan. Abu-Khaled just did not want to admit it, that is all! Just kiddin' Wassalam, Mona |
