| The following is advice that Amir Abdur Rahman Khan the amir of afghanistan gave to his succesors ( in 1900) about how the kaafirun would seek to destroy afghanistan and how to deal with them. "I do not want to name any power in particular, but i give hint for the information of my people that they must try to know the difference between the characters of various powers; some of them resemble a leech that goes on sucking the blood till a man dies without feeling any pains, while others are like a pinch that is very painful but does not kill-like a wasp of a non-poisonous nature, where there is great pain but no danger of death. Some powers take countries by force of their strength and victories; others take them by treachery, fraud and stirring up home quarrels between the chiefs of the country, themselves keeping behind the curtain and benefitting by the folly of others...." quoted from 'the life of amir abdur rahman, amir of afghanistan' edited by mir munshi sultan mohammed khan vol 2 ,1900 , pp72-73 |
