Salaam i would like to invite everybody to please contribute to the following question In what way is European culture a relic of Roman colonialism? The reason i wish to ask this question is we are confronted again and again by the term 'Roman' in the hadiths , including the hadith where the prophet says 'the people of iraq will die in great numbers because the romans will impose a embargo on them (please use search facility on the Islamic scholar cd-rom) Madeline albright the has admitted that she's perfectly happy with the 500,000 iraqi children who've died so far, so the numbers not in doubt! Secondly because most people in Europe and most european migrants to the america's will admit that their culture is substantially from the romans , the 'roman' catholic church is itself a product of the roman belief in Mithra with the virgin mary as a substitute godess for women thirdly it is a historical fact that the romans destroyed the native language and culture of the countries they conquered and not as some of the pagans would have us believe just added on roman gods. For instance the last person to speak the original language of the celt-iberian tribes of spain was actually a prisoner who cried out in his native tongue before he expired under torture which adds a new twist to the so-called Reconquista and finally to defend my thesis i would like to end with some evidence 1) the whole concept of a Senate in the guise that the government of the usa uses it is Roman (i would argue it is well on the way from moving to a democracy to a plutocracy-rule by the rich as put forward by Plato in the republic) the senatorial tradition of Brutus (the killer of Caesar) stands in direct opposition to the Authoritarian tradition represented by Caesar and copied by the Russian Empire , the words Tsar and Caesar are in fact the same. The third tradition is that of the mob which both sides have used throughout history and which was subject to appeal from the roman priesthood. Why do i believe this is important? for one thing it is not enough to say 'the west' since this is geographically misleading, or the 'free world' which is meaningless. The Prophet promised us that one roman army would come to destroy the muslims and the second roman army would fight it. Historically speaking the russian 'orthodox' church has been violently anti-muslim since the 1700's at least. This is because it see's itself as the inheritor of the Byzantine and hence according to them the true Roman empire , and consequently they have looked down upon the church of the latin and anglo-saxon countries as a upstart pretender. The capital of the byzantine empire was in istanbul until the muslims captured it (the byzantines had historically broken every treaty they had signed with the muslim caliphate and used it as a springboard for aggressian against muslim civilians and traders). this explains why the russians are so anti-turkish so the deeper questions are what consequences will a strong authoritarian byzantine russia backed by a religious crusade supported by the 'orthodox' x-tian church in serbia, greece and elsewhere have on the world in which muslim countries are there large 'orthodox' x-tian groups and how will they react to a crusade proposed by Putin? and how should the ummah react to an act of territorial aggressian or genocide supported by the 'orthodox' church please feel free to flame! |

| Assalaamu alaikum. Very interesting indeed! I have been thinking about the same thing for quite some time as well - with regards to the 'Romans' issue foretold in the ahadith. Alhamdulillah, I am very happy to see someone investigating this matter further to enlighten the rest of us of the dangers that lie with the 'roman' way of life. I'm sure many other brothers/sisters on the board have some interesting things to share. Keep us posted Brother Wahid Khan with your own findings. Wassalaam. |

I came across this issue whilst roman literature What you have here is very interesting because on the one hand we have people like Samuel Huntington in his book saying that there is this war going on between civilizations BUT at the same time he's totally ignoring the fact that anglo-saxon, celtic, nordic, germanic and even the hispanic and culture of other latin peoples has been effectively suppressed by Roman culture That in fact this is the Roman enterprise of world conquest and other cultures within Europe are being subjected to cultural warfare. For example a group of mummies were found in the east turkestan deserts and the amazing thing was they were celtic!...they had red hair(they were preserved due to the dry desert conditions) and even wore tartan clothing and the strangest thing was some of the women had hats that are usually shown as being worn by witches. Maybe we muslims should see the whole process that the roman catholic church was engaged in as essentially a policy of destroying cultural resistance by the germanic and celtic tribes. We all know that the ancient greeks and romans were to a large degree sodomites with a hatred of the women so perhaps thats where the roman catholic church acquires it's belief in celibacy etc and it's witch burning behaviour Like i said there plenty more here to investigate |

| assalaamu alaikum very interesting subject...have you seen hamza yusuf's video on...i forget the title, the new world order? he mentions the concept of mithra in modern christianity, thus contributing to the pagan-ness it has evolved into. he also mentions the "romans" and "neo-romans" in many other videos, i wish i knew which ones. in any case, keep us updated. interesting subject, indeed. |

The other aspect of this which strikes me is the political system Zbigniew Brzezinski(national security advisor 1977-1981) in his book 'Out of Control: Global Turmoil on the Eve of the Twenty-First Century' points out how the natural conclusion to the denial of god and the belief in atheism/secularism is the belief that man is god! hence we have Hitler today and in the past we had the roman emperors who were made into gods upon death! the whole concept of fascism , the belief that the leader of a state is infallible is drawn from the romans. In our own tradition we came to a similar period when muslim history revolves round the question 'can you wash over your socks?!'the mutazila tradition believed that islam was strict empirical rationality , thus if a islamic law was shown to be based on what they could prove it was true otherwise if it wasn't then it couldn't possibly have been revealed by allah! thatis where the question of whether the qu'ran is created or eternal comes from. Imam Hanbal said that islam is 'we hear and we obey' because otherwise man is denying what god has said by using his own knowledge! thats why imam hanbal said if islam is strict empirical rationality why do we wash over our socks? if the only issue is that of cleanliness then why can muslims wash over their socks? Imam Hanbal was of course murdered by the mutazila an act which sealed the fate of the movement. If the mutazila had succeeded the muslims would have copied the romans! because they would have dumped all their laws and followed ...'naught but their own vain desires..(al-quran). So whats the issue here?..it is that the roman tradition believes in expediency thus it comes into the matrix unclothed naked. it is a danger not only to itself but all those around it! It posseses no shariah unlike the animals indeed it DENIES all sharia! it's reaction to seeing any community that believes in absolute moral imperatives is to destroy them as savage , barbaric, backward etc , it was the romans who forced the celts to eat pork! an animal the celts regarded as unclean...it was they who taught native americans about prostitution and liquor! The natural result of all of this is the greenhouse effect, genocide, Aids etc It was recently announced by Aids researchers that being circumcised substantially reduces your chances of getting Aids( a protein in the foreskin aids the aids virus) now who taught the people in sub-saharan africa that they didn't need to get circumcised? that they were purified by the blood of christ? pretty ironic considering that Aids is a disease spread by infected blood..they destroyed a tradition based on 'empirical' evidence , but science is knowledge that is constantly changing! in the past leaches used in medicine were regarded as laughable! now they are used by hospitals around the world!..maggots are used to eat bad flesh!..carrots ARE good for your eyesight! The romans after they conquered Egypt used it as a bread basket..egyptian peasants starved whilst roman armies and civilization were fueled(you can see what i'm getting at) by egyptian bread The circuses and gladiatorial games were of course provided because they didn't have CNN to show live bloodsports ...roman society was fueled by a military industrial complex! both to keep the citizens happy and to keep the resources under control...so what happened? why did the first rome fall? |
