| Assalamu alaikum, Depends on who's asking I guess... If it's a non-Muslim stranger, I'd probably ignore the comment and feel extremely embarassed. If it's a non-Muslim acquaintance, I'd probably laugh and say "What? Don't call me that! Save it for your boyfriend." If it's a Muslim acquaintance, I'd probably be extremely shocked and say "WHAT??", and feel like a billion alarms had gone off in my head. If it's a Muslim stranger, I'd probably imagine I was dreaming about a typical ISNA conference and ignore the whole thing :D Ok, ok! I'd probably turn around and say, "EXCUSE ME!!! You're a Muslim, aren't you?" I think that would be enuff! Wassalamu alaikum. |
