| Asalamuaykum, I posted this message before but it was after that jihad poem, I thought I'd put it here under it's own subject line. have you guys heard of a book, "Chicken soup for the soul"? Well,i was thinking of making one kinda similar but an islamic version by collecting Islamic poems and stories off of the net and publishing them in a book, and call it something like "assorted chocolates" cos they'd be a variety of topics and each one kinda has it's own sweetness. My dad would help me with getting the actual book published once i've printed out what i want in it. This is just an idea. Any suggestions or criticism? How do i get people's permissions? not everything has a name and email attached to it. And if this book can be sold, the money could go for a good cause like to help out the muslims in sheshan or something. Any ideas would be appreciated Wasalamuaykum Amatullah |

| Salam, I think this is a good idea. Keep one thing in mind however. Don't tell the public where the money is going to. The FBI, CIA and the other countries spying machines keep an eye and gun out (if necessary) for people who donate to organizations that they have labeled as terrorist groups or organizations that help the so called terrorist groups. They let donars donate money in small amounts to help people in such situations to buy food, etc. But a large sum of moeny like that, they will quesion you and will decide weather to let you donate or not. You live in Australia, right? That country has some serious problems as I'm sure you must know. Wassalm |

| slm cool, the thread summary is working, looks great Jannah! With regards to the poem book idea Amatullah that sounds really good, but you need to make sure you get permission, and find out who wrote the poem. Saleema there is some problem in Australia? I know practically nothing about the place other then the Olympics are over there right now, and they have koala bears. But its good, alhumdullilah there are Muslims there. :) |

| Asalamuaykum, I've talked to some friends and we've decided to make a quarterly magazine instead for muslim teen/girls. Please make dua for us that it will be succesful, inshaillah, we won't talk bout where the money is going, but inshaillah everything will go smoothly. Amatullah |

| Assalamu Alaikum I think it is a good idea also. Some ppl i know do think poetry is a waste of time since u have the Quran and Sunnah. But that is not true it is a waste of time if it is about something useless. But some poetry is really good. They r like nasheeds they help 2 remind u about Islam and give u pride 2 be a muslim instead of been ashamed like some ppl. |

| Assalamoalykum, My mother thinks that my poetry is a waste of time. :) But my dad encourages me to write it. In fact, he's actually my fan. :) I guess if i were as good as Alama Iqbal then she would be interested in my poetry. But I can never be like him. Plus, she thinks that poetry in english is just not poetry. wassalm |
