After We Sleep
By Rahmanara Chowdhury (England)

As darkness falls the night beckons
Calls to human nature,
Invites man after the day is supposedly done
To rest our tired bodies - the unsuspected lure.

How humans sink into bed
Not thinking - just grabbing,
Grateful for the chance to finally rest
And wondering what the next day may bring.

And what may the next day bring?
Perhaps another day on this earth
Another day, another chance to win
Another chance to prove our true worth.

Or perhaps it may bring the inevitable -
The consequences of all our actions,
In anticipation burn the flames of Hell
Waiting for the Final Day to be done.

Time is  but a precious chance
So easily can it be taken away,
How life is wasted in  a trance
Soon it will be upon us; The Day.

Sleep away oh sleepy eyes
Sleep and recuperate,
Yet listen to what your heart cries
And never forget the looming fate.

Earthly life will surely end
Some may be sleeping, some may just be,
When though - none can apprehend
But surely all will be raised to see.

To see and answer to
All that has been recorded,
It awaits all - myself, you
Sleep or awake - it's about all we did.

Allah's Blessings
By Rahmanara Chowdhury (England)

"What joy Allah has provided
Such blessings have been divided
Amongst mankind, amongst all
The actions from which will determine our rise or fall.

Alhamdulillah for all I have been given
To pleasure my heart has been driven,
Yet so easily it can be taken away
Even from the slightest of falling astray.

Prayers are made, dua's are made
Farewell to such blessings I wish not to bade,
Strength comes from true Imaan
And the Jihaad of resisting the lures of shaytaan.

Faithful patience and gratitude
Is the simple secret should we choose,
Only remaining firm in Allah's way
Will bring us the reward we so dearly crave."

I think so too because I read an earlier posting by the same person before.

So of you're reading this, Rahmanara, log in and let us know if you're a citizen of madhina.

Wassalam
