Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,

There was a fundraiser in Houston last weekend organized by a Muslim organization called IMF (Islamic Media Foundation).  The organization is doing some really good work, masha Allah.  The President is Br. Mamdouh Rezzek (sp?).  Board members include such dignitaries as Jamal Badawi, Abdullah Idris Ali and Ahmed al-Kadi.

Their major project so far has been the Public Service Announcements that can be shown for free on tv stations.  It looks like the project has been a huge success so far.  They're working towards a tv channel right now.

Go and visit their web site: http://www.islamicmedia.net Especially visit the PSA link, and see if you can get some of those PSA's shown at your local station(s).

Wassalamu alaikum.

Salam,

Chachi come on!!

The CNN doesn't call itself that because it wants the world to think that it is doing work for everyone.

Every commercial that the IMF broadcasts is ended with "This message has been brought to you by your American Muslim Neighbor."  Whoever coined that term is one smart person.

This is a great Dawah oppertunity and it lets the people know that Muslims are not terrorists, and that they dont want to kill Americans every chance that they get. That Muslims living here are Americans too.

No one else in the world needs to let people know what the truth is, they tell their truth on the TV all the time. No one tells the truth about the muslims anywhere and the Muslims will have to do it themselves.

If anyone else wants to say their truth on the Islamic Media Foundation, then they can come and say it becuse Islam is a tolerant religion and it doesn't supress the truth, whether its coming from the Muslims or not.

Islam is a way of Life. These people are doing a service for Islam and Allah and it is very approprate to call it the Islamic Media Foundation. If they didn't have the word Islam in there, i would be complaining about that!

Assalamu alaikum,

Basically, you have to look at the objective behind the thing.  What is it that they are trying to accomplish exactly.  I think there's a couple of things.

First, break stereotypes!

Second, impress the people with Islam/Muslims!

How can you do any of these two things without telling them who you are?  You can't!

Wassalamu alaikum.
P.S. You can actually see the PSA's on their web site.  They're in Real Player format.

ukhti saleema !
arsalan understand what i was saying you didn't!
it was reverse logic!...cnn dosn't call itself
the zionist news network because it wishes to  give image of objectivity thus projecting the
zionist view as the view of the rational  objective observer understand?

Arsalan if we report the news it should be as
muslims so we shouldn't need to say this is the
truthful muslim news..just say it's the news
the people will know who tells the truth themselves
