| MYNA stands for Muslim Youth of North America. It's an organization run by and for Muslim youth, tries to help Muslim youth with the challenges we face living in the US and Canada. MYNA in the United States is divided into different zones, West, Central, and East. Canda is divided into West and East zones. Each zone is divided up into regions. [img]http://www.jannah.org/myna/mynanorthamerica.jpg[/img] All zones and all regions have representatives, advisors, and other officers. There are regional, zonal, and national conferences each year. Pretty cool, the last East Zone conference we had was about 200 youth, chill speakers and amazing sessions. In East Zone we're trying to establish youth groups in different communities, we have a How to build a Muslim Youth Group packet, and the last zonal conference we had was themed "Back to the Basics", focused on fundamentals of Islam and on starting grassroots work. This year inshaAllah we're gonna continue that, we're having some phat sessions like how to have an MSA in your highschool, problems in your local youth group, etc. Each region has local events too, like MYNA Olympics, fundraising dinners for different causes, smaller regional conferences and camps, etc. Br. moe if you tell me where in Canada you are, I'll try to find out what's going on with your zone, and then you can get involved :) wasalaam. |
