| Assalamu alaikum, I don't know how many of you have noticed this, but I noticed it very recently. The first verse of Surat-ul-Israa' states what may be translated as the following: [hr] Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless,- in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things). [hr] The words of interest here are "whose precincts We did bless." The original arabic is "alladhee baaraknaa Hawlahu". The word "hawlahu" means *its* precincts. Notice how Allah didn't say "Hawlahumaa", which would mean "both of their precincts" - referring to Masjid-al-Haram and Masjid-al-Aqsaa. Isn't it obvious? The stress on the holiness of Masjid-al-Aqsaa. Although we all know that Masjid-al-Haram's precincts are more sacred than any other place in the world. But the fact that Allah singles out Masjid-al-Aqsa in this verse, even though it is mentioned along with Masjid-al-Haram, I think it's pretty revealing. May Allah help the Pelestinians in their quest. May Allah help them. May Allah help them! Ameen! Wassalamu alaikum. |
