Can anyone answer the sister or send her an email please...

Hi There!! My name is Harisa and i was born into a Muslim
family...currently i am Agnostic...i attended mosque as a child but as i
got older i refused to go because i found it hard to believe in the
existence of god without solid proof..therefore i stopped going to
mosque...i am not against the "Belief in God" but i am against
religions...christianity puts women down and though Islam claims not
to--it does--just in a more subtle way...by your name i assume you are
female and i would like to hear your view on Islam and Women..i have
left my email for you up above..so please email me...id like to hear what
u have to say and perhaps share more of my views with you...that is all
for now have a good day

Arsalan, Sr. Huma does not have time to answer these that's why she puts them here. If no one answers them then they will just remain that way.

Assalamu alaikum,

Here's some good stuff about Women in Islam:
http://www.jamaat.org/islam/WomanIslam.html  Notice that the left margin contains more material on the topic, other than the article displayed on the screen.

I'd highly, highly recommend this person to get a hold of the book called Even Angels Ask by Jeffrey Lang.  You can find the book here.

I certainly hope that you followed bro Arsalan's advice and bought that book.

However, let me just add what I want to say.  Your belief is that you do not believe in God since there is no proof that God exists, right?  Then how do you explain all this that is around you?  The earth and all that is in it, the living beings from the whale to the amoeba?  Just as footsteps in the sand indicate that a human walked there, wouldn't this universe and all the creation indicate the presence of an all powerful being to which none can compare, the one who cerated all that is?  Okay, lets say that you believe that evolution caused the creation of living organisms (note: this is completely false as we all know that things like life don't just come about by chance... Allah (AWJ) has said that he created Adam (AS) and then sent him to the earth and that is what we as muslims believe).  Taking that presumption, where do you think that the primordial soup and the precursor biomolecules came from?  They must have come from somewhere... they can't just have *been* there.    do I here you say the Big Bang?  Then what caused the big bang (if it really took place... we all know that this is just a theory).  Where did all this come from.  How could a bang just take place?  There is no doubt that there must have a been an all powerful being, Allah (AWJ), that caused the creation of the earth and all that is in it.

Now here's another point.  I'm sure you know of the Qur'an.  Now where do you think that came from?  If you don't believe in God then you must think that our Noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) (who was also illiterate) wrote it.  There is complete and unanimous agreement, between Muslims and non-Muslims alike, that the Qur'an came into being around 1400 years ago.  Taking into consideration the number of changes that have taken place in the bible and other books, wouldn't it be considered, at the very least, that it's a miracle that the Qur'an has remained without change since it was revealed?  No other religious scripture can boast such an accomplishment.  Have you visited the web site www.it-is-truth.org?  If not please do, and examine how it was the Muhammad (SAW) knew so much science 1400 years back if indeed he wrote it.

Please understand what i wrote is very superficial and I'm sure that if you ask a scholar he would give a much better explanation and with many more examples than what I have written Insha-Allah.  Please give some thought to the above.

Asalamalaikum,

Here are some verses from the Quran to back up some of what proudtobemuslim wrote:

36:33 And a sign for them is the dead land. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof.

36:34 And We have made therein gardens of date-palms and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein.

36:35 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks?

36:36 Glory be to Him, Who has created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as of their own (human) kind (male and female), and of that which they know not.

36:37 And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness.

36:38 And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.

36:39 And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk.

36:40 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit.

36:41 And an Ayâh (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nûh (Noah)].

36:42 And We have created for them of the like thereunto, so on them they ride.

36:71 Do they not see that We have created for them of what Our Hands have created, the cattle, so that they are their owners.

36:72 And We have subdued them unto them so that some of them they have for riding and some they eat.

36:73 And they have (other) benefits from them (besides), and they get (milk) to drink, will they not then be grateful?

36:77 Does not man see that We have created him from Nutfah (mixed male and female discharge semen drops). Yet behold! He (stands forth) as an open opponent.

36:80 He, Who produces for you fire out of the green tree, when behold! You kindle therewith.

Hopefully Inshallah these should make you reflect.

wassalam.

Assalamoalykum,

Nazia, did she respond to your e-mails? I e-malied her but she didn't respond back so i didn't bother to write again. I assumed that she must be of the philisophical/sceintific type, most atheists and agnostics are, you know. So i e-mailed her and excerpt from a book called, "In Search of God." The excerpt goes right to the point and explians from a philosophical/scientific point of view that how saying God doens't exist goes against the basic tenents of science and philosophy.

What do I do now to say I'm Muslim? I was born a Muslim so does that still mean that I have to say the shahad?

Yes, Harisa, you  have to say the shahada, go to the nearest mosque and they will guide you from there. Or your mom and dad. I am so sorry!! PLease forgive me. :(

Wassalam  (im learning)

To those who gave the da'wah to Harisa,

Masaha'Allah!!

May Allah ta'ala reward you abundantly and generously for removing the shakk [doubt], and for taking the initiative. I commend you as your brother in Islam for this endeavour, which is no small thing you have accomplished bi'ithnillah, and may you (plural)- bi'ithnillah- be means for many others too.

Time constrained me, despite my niyyah, from participating in this noble effort, and I am grateful to Allah (awj) that we have Sisters here who took the time to address these issues, and indeed Allah ta'ala does not allow the efforts to be in vain, alhamdulillah.

If *any* issues remain outstanding, let those who can- bi'ithnillah- contribute to resolution without delay.

I pray also that Allah ta'ala facilitates an easy path for Harisa, and keeps us all on the Sirat al-Mustaqeem, always.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,

Harisa: It's not necessary for you to say the shahaadah in public, if you feel uncomfortable.  However, you should try to get in touch with some Muslims in your town and try to get close to the Masjid and the community.  When you tell the people there that you recently learned more about Islam and were convinced that it was the Truth, and that you consider yourself a Muslim now, they might ask you to say the shahaadah in public.  That is because Muslims tend to feel extremely happy to see other people join their community of Belief :)  If you do the testimony in public, alot of people will come to you to shake hands, or hug you, or both!  So be prepared for that :)

Wish you all the best sister.  Congratulations on being guided.  May Allah continue to guide you, and all of us, in the future as well.

Ameen.

Wassalamu alaikum.
