| assalamu alaikum, almost there insha'Allah. i have to work on committing the last 4 ayahs to memory. i find it helpful to *keep* the ayahs in my long-term memory if i recite them during salah. its amazing how short my short-term memory is! but for others, don't get discouraged, i am a native arabic speaker and things are much easier for me. all of you whose first tongue is not arabic should feel blessed, for you have 2 thawabs when you read Qur'an; one for reading it and another for reading it with an accent :-) there is a hadith about this. how about you br. asim? how goes the memorization? srs abc, destined, tq and malika..getting there insha'Allah? wassalam |

| salaam, I've started memorizing, i'm getting there. Insha'allah i'll have all 10 by Friday. It's weird cuz I'm working on another surah, so I'm trying to do both of em at once w/salaam |

| Assalaamu alaikum, Thanks for the reminder Kashif. I haven't started yet! InshaAllah, I will try to do it by Friday. My short term memory (a few hours) is fairly good but for long term I have to recite it several times and for several days. JazakAllah Khairan Kashif. The whole idea is great otherwise I just put things off. (big time procrastinator!) Wasalaam. |

| Assalamalaikum Yes I've started memorising, inshaAllah will be there by Friday :) I have been reading this sura almost every Friday for quite some time now. So I'm pretty much "familiar" with the ayats. I have it on my computer so before going to bed I listen to it about 3-4 times. I find that it really helps to remember it for longer times. How do you ppl try to memorize? wassalam abc |

| slm everybody !!! seems like im late in on the scene again but Alahdulillah i've already memorised about 50 ayahs of al-kahf btu it ahs been a struggle of finsh it :) |
