messed up society

Assalamu Alaikum,
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate and Merciful,
I haven't introduced myself. I'm 17 and a senior at Troy High School. One thing I've noticed since starting high school in the US - I went to middle school in my country, Turkey - is that students depend on each other and teachers too much.
An example I can give is in my english class. Our teacher would give us a worksheet to do and before the period ends, we'll go over it. Some people have questions, of course, and when he explains the answer to the question, they'll ask "So, what am I going to put for the answer?" Sometimes I pity them because they've lost the idea of thinking for themselves. I'm not saying that they're not smart but they've been so used to getting all the answers from each other and the teachers that they don't know how to think for the answer.
This is not only happening in the United States, the world and the next generation is changing. When I was in middle school in Turkey, the curriculum was so strict that you could barely ask questions in class, we had to figure out mainy everything for ourselves. Now, the classes are much easier and the teachers and less strict. If we want to be a productive generation, then we have to do more work and do it for ourselves.
One other thing is that students complain about two page homework. The teacher does everything to finish the worksheets, but then the students complain about finishing it for homework.
Anyway, I think I made my point clear enough.
Salam

I'll try to ! But how many would understand ...? I understand that any art is best at its original, but whats the use when it is not grasped ?
