assalaamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarkatuh
ok this albanyia thing is gettin boring, ill just start blabbing a little.
se7en, guess where i am, i didnt go to my rotation, so im at the AMC library,:) hehe dont worry i have an excuse for not goin, not skippin:)
ok so everyone else out there, im going to tell u abt wats goin on at MECCAH for IAW (nov6-10)

so i guess wever got a little something something planned:
huge, big fat mama banners to hang on the walls, i think, we mite have some facts on them, maybe a lil sumthin abt the nat'l day of silence for the children of iraq (which is on sat, btw is anything going on for that here?)

i think were gonna have an open discussion thing on monday , talk abt anythign they want, like an open discussion type thing. se7en i reely think we should have like a somewhat knowledgable person there, i dotn think we should just do it ourselves,

flyers, maybe with facts, we'll work on that,

announcements: a diff announcement everyday, with a diff fact abt islam:) any ideas for 3 facts? anyones, somethign diff, somehing surprising, soemthign that wud get both the abercrombie scrubs as well as the ghetto thugs's attention:

ribbons:abt a bajillion white ribbons were made, and peace was written on EVERYSINGLE one of them with a gold gel pen (cool huh?)so we'll give that out inshallah , i think ppl like that, itll get their attentions inshallah

hmm, wat else? any other ideas?
any suggestions, any volunteers to help :) hehe
this is a major dawah/publicity for meccah opp.
and alll the albanyians who dont yet know wat MECCAH is, Muslim Educational Cultural Club of Albany High (and yes were still in high school)

salaam

razia them sound like some phat ideas :) i especially liek the 3 fact thing.. i wanted to do that for ages at university but of course i was too revolutionary for my time :P

the publicity stuff is great... but where's the (halal) beef? you need to have lectures or events to bring people in and teach them about islam.. there is an iaw resource booklet put out by msa national www.msa-natl.org under publications that you can read, they have some sample titles of lectures and stuff like that...

you should have a lil something every day... monday --- open meeting
tuesday --- give out ribbons
wednesday -- lecture on islam (somewhere near albany high?)
thursday -- have a big meccah dinner at someone's house
friday -- all go out to jumah together?

as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatAllahi wa barakatuh,

Jannah you have to realize the level most of these people are at... we gotta keep it chill in order to keep people interested.

Alhamdulillah, we gave out somethin like 300 ribbons and we still need to make more...

The info we brought in was good, inshaAllah people will actually read the stuff they took and learn a lil somethin...

And the banners, flyers, announcements were awesome even though we were harassed yet again by authority...

Dhikr Saturday an hour of silence/ protest thing goin on at SUNY, I'll email you about it inshaAllah.

wasalaam.

Assalaamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
takbeer,
i say it turned out pretty well alhumdulilah,
a whole lotta ppl saw the flyers, so many ppl read them which is soo good .
althought the announcements wereent read properly, i guess the one fact that got out is now drilled into their heads hehe:)
so i think i ended up making a little under 500, which we're all out of now, so thats good i guess, inoticed alot of teachers were wearing them so it was a good idea to put it in their mail boxes.
i think we did aiite, se7en, we'll see if next years crew can top us hehe:)
and se7en, me mite be in pughkeepsie this weekend. girl, where u at? email me iA.
