assalaamu alaikum

I have two issues with this, both of which are serious.

1> Even though it is "Christian humour," the last line implies clear shirk - that Jesus is the son of God - [High is Allah above all that they ascribe to him]. And this is not something that should either make us laugh or something we should take lightly. Indeed, it is a tremendously evil statement that almost brings the heavens come crashing down from above us:

'And they say "(Allah) the Benificent hath taken unto Himself a son. Assuredly, ye utter a disastrous thing. Whereby, the heavens are almost torn, and the Earth is split asunder and the mountains fall into ruins - that ye ascribe unto the Benificent (Allah) a son.' [Surah Maryam 88:91]

2> Personally, i don't think that it is in good character to mention the names of the Messengers in jokes like this. Allah chose them Himself to carry His Message, and this in itself should demonstrate to us that these are not ordinary people.

Sometimes i think, if i gt to Jannah (and i pray that all of us will enter therein) who are the people i would love to meet? And i think of Abu Bakr and Umar, and the scholars of old whose books we read today, and also, the Prophets. How could i face the Prophet Musa alaihis-salaam after using his name in a joke like this?

Assalamoalykum,

I just have one thing to say. I am very offended by this "joke."

wassalam

10.68 They say: "Allah hath begotten a son!" - Glory be to Him! He is Self- Sufficient! His are all things in the heavens and on earth! No warrant have ye for this! Say ye about Allah what ye know not?

Assalam-u-Alaikum,
Don't be so gloomy.  Just repent to Allah and He will forgive you.  Remember, you cannot judge a muslim by his actions, but his Eeman(by actions I don't mean Salaah, Zakaah etc.).  Ok, so I don't know what you said because you removed it, but I don't need to know.

I thought it was the opposite - that you judge a Muslim by his outward actions because this is all that isapparent to us, whereas, Allah will judge on the basis of imaan - as this is a matter of the heart, and only He knows what is in the hearts.

Assalam-u-Alaikum
What I meant was that just because someone does a mistake or makes an error, he cannot be declared a munafiq or a kafir, because we don't know what he thinks or feels.  For example, if you see someone , as in this case, make an offensive joke, you cannot declare him a munafiq.  Or, if someone lies, he isn't a kafir for lying.  He will be a kafir if he doesn't believe in any one of the pillars of Islam such as Salaah or Sawm.  He may not be a very good muslim if he always lies, but one nonetheless.  There is a Hadith that says that even a muslim with a mustard seed's weight of Eeman will go to Paradise.  I am not as knowledgeble as some of the people on this board, so may Allah forgive me for anything I have said wrong out of ignorance.
