I'tikaaf

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,

I had the golden opportunity to do i'tikaaf in the Masjid during the last two Ramadans.  Last 2 years and this coming year are the only 3 years in which I can possibly get a chance to do a 10 day i'tikaaf in the Masjid.  The reason is school of course.  But because the last 2 years and this year Ramadan fell in Winter break, I could do it.

I would recommend it highly to anyone out there who is going to college.  You will not get this opportunity again after this year!  Once you start working, it'll become extremely difficult to take 10 days off in a row for Ramadan.

My both i'tikaafs were experiences that I would not trade for anything in this world.  I'm definitely a very different person because of them.  At least make the intention of doing it right now.  And then try to work for it so that you can carry it out in Ramadan.

Wassalamu alaikum.

That's awesome to hear that you had an opportunity to do this, alhumdullilah.

AsalamAlayKum,

Did you know you can perform I'tikaaf
ANY TIME of the year!

For about half my adult life now, EVERY Time
I enter any masjid, I silently make the
intention to make I'tikaaf for the duration
of my stay in the masjid.

Bonus eh?

Salam,

AsalamAlayKum...

At times, I catch myself making
Intention for I'tikaaf when entering
ANY musalah, or when even stepping on to
regular prayer mats.

It can't hurt, eh?

Salam,

~ HiMY! ~
