| I should mention one more thing here that this site is for Non-Muslim rape victims and also to make them aware of the Islamic protection for women. |

| Asim, I think your site is very interesting and definitely would make "western women" perhaps take a different view of Islam. But I think the premise that islam prevents rapes, while true for so many reasons.. islam itself has so many rules that try to make such a situation impossible.. ie encouraging marriage, outlawing pre-marital relations, the concept of haya, outlawing khulwa being alone with someone of the opposite sex, no dating, separateness of men and women socializing, etc. i think that rape is not necessarily just a sexual crime. it is a crime of power, of violence and control. and unfortunately it too does happen to muslim women because of this reason. |
