Assalamu alaikum, Sorry for being so blunt, but what is the point of asking such questions? |

slm Yes I was wondering too.But anyway I will answer number 8: There is ahadeeth, that there should not be allowed any kufar in the Arabian peninsula(but alas, they are allowed in),therefore there are no churche nor synagogues, but the people do practice their religionsssssss in their houses to my knowledge. *All in all,Islam does permit people to practice their religion and we are not supposed to force Islam on no one. That is where the greatness of Islam comes in. |

Assalamu alaikum, Widad - Islam prohibits the presence of kuffar in the Haram, not the entire Arab peninsula. And this is in the Qur'an, not ahaadith. Unless you know something I don't know ... ??? |

assalaamu alaikum I'm pretty sure that the whole peninsula is to be made out of bounds to the kuffaar. Allahu a'lam. Kashif Wa Salaam |

Arsalan, I'm prety sure it's in the hadith, which is something to the effect : "There should be only one religion in the Arabian peninsular". |

Assalamoalykum, So can you guys tell me why you found those questions to be weird and why are people hesitant to answer them? If you don't want to post here, please email me. I promise, those questions were asked with good intentions so that I can make up my mind about a certain things/policies/group of people. This is really eating at me, the questions I mean. :) wassalam |

Muwatta, Book 45, Number 45.5.18: Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Two deens shall not co-exist in the Arabian Peninsula." Malik said that Ibn Shihab said, ''Umar ibn al-Khattab searched for information about that until he was absolutely convinced that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had said, 'Two deens shall not co-exist in the Arabian Peninsula,' and he therefore expelled the jews from Khaybar." Muslim,Book 019, Number 4366: It has been narrated by 'Umar b. al-Khattib that he heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say: I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim. Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 288: Narrated Said bin Jubair: Ibn 'Abbas said, "Thursday! What (great thing) took place on Thursday!" Then he started weeping till his tears wetted the gravels of the ground . Then he said, "On Thursday the illness of Allah's Apostle was aggravated and he said, "Fetch me writing materials so that I may have something written to you after which you will never go astray." The people (present there) differed in this matter and people should not differ before a prophet. They said, "Allah's Apostle is seriously sick.' The Prophet said, "Let me alone, as the state in which I am now, is better than what you are calling me for." The Prophet on his death-bed, gave three orders saying, "Expel the pagans from the Arabian Peninsula, respect and give gifts to the foreign delegates as you have seen me dealing with them." I forgot the third (order)" (Ya'qub bin Muhammad said, "I asked Al-Mughira bin 'Abdur-Rahman about the Arabian Peninsula and he said, 'It comprises Mecca, Medina, Al-Yama-ma and Yemen." Ya'qub added, "And Al-Arj, the beginning of Tihama.") |

1.) Under the Khalifat system, during the first centuries, how was the crime rate? Did a lot of people commit crimes, major ones, like murder, fornication, and drinking, making or delivering alcohol? 2.) What is the Islamic ruling on arrest? Even if the police saw the people do a major crime are they allowed to beat the accused while arresting him? 3.) What is the ruling on torture, even if the person has committed the crime? 4.) What is the ruling on not telling the person what they have been arrested for? Is the person allowed to know when he will be executed? Is he allowed to see his family before his execution? 5.) Is there such a crime as the "crime of conscience?" 6.) What does Islam say about holding secret trials? 7.) Under an Islamic State, and I mean a *real* Islamic State, are the non-Muslims allowed to preach their religion? 8.) Is it allowed in Saudi for non-Muslims to practice their religion in private? Can they have their own churches or synagogues? What about people who are not monotheists? |

It took me a while to figure out which way to read the posts, from top to bottom or bottom to top, due to the fact the questions were at the bottom :/ i'd be less confused if the date layout was not Americanised :/ interesting questions, but i do not acquire any of the answers |

Actually sister Saleema posted her questions and then took off her own post. And then she added them at the bottom after some discussion. So no we americans really don't go backwards in time :) |
