assalamalakum dear brothers and sisters I know that you all have probably gotten a lot of positive feedback as well as criticism about this forum. I do not usually visit here and so, I apologize in advance if I'm about to sound repetitive. I first would like to say, I think this forum is beautiful, mashaAllah. I see a lot of support, encouragement, knowledge, and brother/sisterhood exemplified here. However, I am slightly concerned with one thing. That is, the interaction between brothers and sisters. As I was "travelling" through the "city", I noticed that brothers and sisters say things to each other and act in ways that they would probably not say and act if they were face-to-face. For example, I saw one post where a sister asked brothers how they would react if a girl called them "hottie." I saw a couple of posts where brothers were talking about PMS and women's menses. I found these instances to be totally inapporpriate interaction between Muslim men and women and so, I am wondering if I've misuderstood something. I think it's wonderful that this forum has established friendships and a sense of unity and support, but at the same time, I do not think that it should compromise the principles of Islam just because it's over a computer system where brothers and sisters are not physically seeing one another. Jazakum Allahoo Khairun for taking the time to read this post. May Allah bless you all! |

Wa'alaikum assalam, Jazak Allahu khairan anonymous for that reminder! It's well taken. May Allah guide us all to the Straight Way, and keep us on it. Wassalamu alaikum. |
