| Salamu Aliakom, Does anyone know of any Islamic organizations that give scholarships to students? Actually when my Dad was doing his doctorate masha Allah he got a full scholarship from this organization that King Faisal of Saudi, that would give out scholarships to Muslimeen. So i was wondering if there is something similar here in the U.S. If there isn't then it definatly should be done. Wa Allahu A3laam |

| Salamu Aliakom, Hmm I might try that but I don't like the idea of getting something from the Egyptian government er yuck. Maybe they are a bit nicer in Yemen, Allahu A3laam :) |

Hmm accepting a favour from a kaffir?... If a scholar who visits a muslim tyrant is corrupted according to the imam al-ghazzali how much more so one who visits a zindiq? The imams would flee muslim tyrant rulers when they were offered posts by them. |

If he's a kaffir who hasn't good or bad dealings with muslims then NO.. If he is a butcher who kills muslims and destroys islam and overturns the fatwah's of the sahabi then ABSOLUTELY by accepting a favour from him you are legitimating his rule and personally a person who does something like this is nothing less than a vampire who feeds on the blood of muslims best not to go near him unless you wish to be polluted yourself |

| salaamu alaikom, I have slightly different take on this. for instance in saudi arabia. the rulers think that whatever money they give out is there own. so they are doing us a favor whenever we are given money. when in truth it is the peoples money. so whatever money I take is my right. if what wahid says is true then all people living in most islamic countries should refuse to take electricity, water or go to school/university. after all, the government pays for it all. |

Correction the government dosn't pay for it you work for it..why do you think they give scholarships?..to state they have a link to islam..first they kill the scholars then they censor their books and then they give those books away so they can gain authority by pretending they are muslims..allah (swt) controls knowledge and he gives it to whom he wills..why do you think the prophet said knowledge would disappear?! why do you think hadrat ali sacked ALL of the imams in the mosques in iraq except for two of them (one was imam hasan al-basri) , do you think those people couldn't recite hadith?...hadrat ali said he sacked them because all they did was tell stories and islam is not a jewish x begat y and y begat z or a christian 'and now it came to pass..' islam is the belief in allah (it's creator) , it's laws (the qu'ran) and it's practice (the sunna) and by associating islam with the people who try to destroy islam you are mocking allah, perverting the quran (islamic law) and confounding it's practice (the ummah) |

| okie dokie?! hey will all you americans plz stop using these antiquated english expressions..i mean the last person in england i heard using okie dokie without raising a eyebrow was my maths teacher when i was 12... incidentally okie dokie is only used when u wish to indicate to the other person that you are engaged in solving a problem and do not wish to be disturbed... |

| slm, Well this is a year late but better late than never no? Anyways, the IDB (Islamic Development Bank) offers a variety of scholarships and qard hasan (interest-free loans). And they're really good about paying back the loan in that they specify a percentage of your monthly income that would go towards paying off the debt. This way if your income is low than the amount you pay,monthly, will be less than if you had a relatively higher income. Ofcourse in case of unemployment you wouldn't have to pay anything untill you get employed. Hope it helps. |
