THis was an interesting thing I heard from someone.

Bulletin boards are always a useful source of information, and at times an effective way of communicating. However, till this day, no bulletin boards are more interesting than those i find at the local mosques. just a few things ive read:

During Ramadan, this message was hand scribbled by someone on one of the signs informing muslims of free iftar "Thank you for giving me food and husband" of course husbands were not part of the menu, but hey, one coulda fallen in the pot by mistake.

this guy was looking for a wife
" I want a muslimah princess, very beautiful, and attractive, between the age of 17-27 (older women DONT apply) she must know cooking, cleaning, and be a good wife. If you are the women i want call --- ---- for more information" of course there was no picture along with this ad, and no wonder why, i was told the guy was 40, and that was probably an underestimate.

this was the mosque gym schedule during ramadan,
"MON, WED, FRI -Girls gym time begins after 8 taraweeh rakas to 20 rakas.
TUES THURS SATURDAY Boys gym time begins after 8 taraweeh to 20 taraweeh
Sunday, alternate, even days girls odd days boys based on ramadan calendar."
Hate to find out what the bathroom cleaning schedule is based on.

This wasnt a bulletin, but it almost was,
this guy came up to the imam one day and said "Br.___ i need to talk to u about a very important issue" the imam replied "of course brother go ahead, whats the issue" the man continued 'well imam ____, i think its hightime we started certifying halal food. My falafil company makes 100% halal falafil and i want u to certify them. I will pay you one dollar a year!!! and u will get great reward from Allah!!" A person standing by the imam commented, "one dollar! ur falafil cost more than that, atleast givem a box of ur halal falafil...hey wait a minute, halal falafil??!!, falafil dont have meat!!!" "so what, they are muslim made, so they are halal!!!" "but thats not what halal means!!" "Imam____...hey where did the imam go??" Walahi, this is a TRUE STORY.
