Salaam alaykum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu

I just read a small article about ways of uniting muslims, meaning not just associating with people from your own culture. As muslims we are aware that we are one race but in reality i think a lot can be done. This article has a lot of common sense useful tips and i hope you will enjoy them as much as i did.
You can read it at:

Also there is small intro on what the Qur'an and sunnah say about racism and prejudice at:
http://soundvision.com/racism/quran.shtml

Ma3a Salama,
Nurain.

Assalamu alaikum Nurain,
That was a beautiful article to read.
That's why I've often wondered if there are any restrictions (other than the suckled child not being older than 2 years) to mothers of different racial backgrounds suckling each other's babies just for the sake of establishing foster-relations. Anybody got more info. on this?

A couple of weeks ago over 30 Muslim refugee families were arrested in our little city for welfare fraud in the way of thousands of dollars per family.

It was all over the paper and news.

Last night I went to our meat market. Someone had spray painted the side of the store "Free riders- go home"

I wonder what is going to happen next....

I was more upset from the "dawah angle."

No doubt it has been a long road for our community to be comfortable with so many of us "foreigners"-

Allah swt as always, gave me some hope yesterday. While I  was volunteering at my son's elementary school, the principal walked by and said

"Allahu Akbar!"

I don't know if he knew what he said- but it made me feel alot better!

Insha Allah- someday.
He is really interested in learning about everything. I think since he has met me- his curiosity has led him to want to learn more about Islam.
During Ramadan he asked alot of questions and told me that he and his family watched The Message.
May Allah swt guide him on the straight path...
