This was sent to me, maybe someone can answer it.

Bismillah Arrahmani Arrahim
Assalamu Alaykom Warahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Thank you for the efforts that you have done in this website to serve Islam and muslims. May ALLAH (swt) reward you all.

I am a convert to Islam Alhamdulillah married a muslim and trying to convert my christian parents and freinds to islam, I showed them many verses in the Bible concerning the Prophets' sins and many wrong things in the Bible which insults the prophets, but one day one of my christian friends showed me two narrations from Sahih Bukhari about prophet Musa (as) and I did'nt believe in the first time, then I checked them and I found them in Sahih Bukhari, (Prophets Section.) The two narration are:
Volume 4, Book 55, Number 616:

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "(The Prophet) Moses was a shy person and used to cover his body completely because of his extensive shyness. One of the children of Israel hurt him by saying, 'He covers his body in this way only because of some defect in his skin, either leprosy or scrotal hernia, or he has some other defect.' Allah wished to clear Moses of what they said about him, so one day while Moses was in seclusion, he took off his clothes and put them on a stone and started taking a bath. When he had finished the bath, he moved towards his clothes so as to take them, but the stone took his clothes and fled; Moses picked up his stick and ran after the stone saying, 'O stone! Give me my garment!' Till he reached a group of Bani Israel who saw him NAKED then, and found him the best of what Allah had created, and Allah cleared him of what they had accused him of. The stone stopped there and Moses took and put his garment on and started hitting the stone with his stick. By Allah, the stone still has some traces of the hitting, three, four or five marks. This was what Allah refers to in His Saying:-- "O you who believe! Be you not like those Who annoyed Moses, But Allah proved his innocence of that which they alleged, And he was honorable In Allah's Sight." (33.69)

Volume 4, Book 55, Number 619:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Angel of Death was sent to Moses when he came to Moses, Moses SLAPPED him on the eye. The angel returned to his Lord and said, "You have sent me to a Slave who does not want to die." Allah said, "Return to him and tell him to put his hand on the back of an ox and for every hair that will come under it, he will be granted one year of life." Moses said, "O Lord! What will happen after that?" Allah replied, "Then death." Moses said, "Let it come now." Moses then requested Allah to let him die close to the Sacred Land so much so that he would be at a distance of a stone's throw from it." Abu Huraira added, "Allah's Apostle said, 'If I were there, I would show you his grave below the red sand hill on the side of the road."

Please I would be grateful if you explain to me are these narrations true and how could Prophet Musa (as) be naked in front of the people, when we as muslims criticize christians because they believe Jesus was naked on the cross. Also Prophet Musa (as) slapping the angel of death.  I am confused as to what to answer my friend. Jazaka Allah.
Assalamu Alaykom

[slm]I think this post needs a detailed answer, but I don't have time right now, so I'll write something really brief insha Allah.
[quote]Please I would be grateful if you explain to me are these narrations true and how could Prophet Musa (as) be naked in front of the people, when we as muslims criticize christians because they believe Jesus was naked on the cross. Whether Eesa (as) was put on the cross naked or not is a moot point for Muslims.  We don't believe he was killed on the cross (crucified).  Nakedness has nothing to do with the issue.

As to the wisdom behind the last hadith, I don't have any knowledge of it.

And Allah, most certainly, knows best.

Wassalamu alaikum.

Also as a point to Arsalan's point: According to the Bible Noah, Nuh (as), was naked as a result of getting drunk.

I too, am unfamiliar with the second hadith.

salaam

musa (wa) was not naked through his own choice but because allah (swt) wished him to do a certain action basically the actus reus was there but there was no mens rea ..another example is the woman who seduced the two angels ...she has committed no crime

remember hadrat musa will not be able to intercede on peoples behalf on the day of judgement because he killed a person
