as-Salaamu 'Alaykum,
Yesterday a brother by the name of Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour came to Dallas and spoke at SMU as well as the main Richardson mosque.  I had the pleasure of listening to him, and subhana Allah, I cannot tell you how much I wsa impressed with his lectures.
Has anybody else heard of him or heard him speak?  If so what are your thoughts?  I have a piece of paper at home that tells a little bit more about him and some books that he wrote and/or recommended during the lectures.  inshaa Allah I will post those up later.  But I just was wondering if anybody else had any experience with him.
I really feel that he would do an excellent job with older youth as an audience (i.e. - like active MYNA/MSA/ICNA workers).

Take care,

Zubaid Kazmi

Dr. Al-Mansour has spent most of his adult life as a businessman, lawyer, intellectual, religious activist, author and teacher.  his business and professional interests include cofounding the International Law Firm of Al-Waleed, Al-Talal and Al-Mansour, representing the O.P.E.C. interest of the famous Los Angeles case, I.M.A.W.C vs O.P.E.C.; and serving as cofounder and director of the African Arabian Islamic Bank.
Dr. Al-Mansour coauthored the book, The Challenges of Spreading Islam in America and Other Essays.  In addition, he authored the books: Black Americans at the Crossroads, Where Do We Go From Here; The Destruction of Western Civilization as Seen Through Islam, Christianity and Judaism; The Reflections of an African Arabian in American Captivity, The Mind and the Mindless.

One of the books that he mentioned (of the many, I'll get the full list inshaa Allah) is:
Christianity, Islam and the African Race by Blyden (Abu-Khalid < -- I think).  He talked a lot about Blyden, brother was absolutely amazing mashaa Allah, brilliant mind.

as-Salaamu 'Alaykum,
Sorry, I didn't post these up, I was slightly busy.
These are the books he mentioned in this speech:

"Islam, Christianity and the Negro Race" by Blyden. - This book actually goes by a few names, it's also "Islam Christianity and the African Race" as well as the Slave Race.  The speaker gave a little history about the author, Blyden, who later became Muslim, and subhan Allah it was amazing.

"The Slave Trade" About this book, the speaker said, "It talks about what
the slaves looked like."

"Wounded Knee."  In this book, read about how tuburculosis infested blankets
were given to the Natives of America in a desceptive gesture of good-will on Thanksgiving.

"The Bull-whip days."  A compilation of interviews with slaves.

"The Clash of Civilizations." By Prof. Hudginson.  In here the author states that the West must take precautions against Islam and it's speed of growth.

The speaker is based out of San Antonio, but he is always traveling to different countries.

His web page, which has some interesting stuff on it is:
http://www.world-hi.com

Currently, I believe he is simply an internationally-renown businessman and lawyer and speaker.
Well, not simply, mashaa Allah :)

Take care,

Zubaid Kazmi
