| Asalaamu Aleikoum, This dropped into my inbox (via the IAP) today. If any of you are, or know anyone who is, involved in this, please pass on my salaam and respect. Assalamu'alaikum, MCGILL UNIVERSITY MSA SEEKS TO SHATTER ZIONIST MYTHS Montreal - February 28, 2001 (IAP News) This week, the Muslims Students' Association of McGill University in Montreal has set up a public display which seeks to reveal to the general public the real truth behind Zionism. The poster display is a collection of quotations from various sources and is entitled: "SHATTERING THE MYTH: The Truth about Palestine." One of the panels in the display outlines the goals of the presentation with the following words: "The information presented in the following panels examines the claims that are often advanced in favor of the Zionist State of Israel. It exposes this propaganda for the mythology that it is by contrasting it with the facts and the statements of several prominent figures in the conflict, many of them Zionists. This is done in the hope that the best (or perhaps impartial) evidence often comes from the horses mouth." The main themes covered in the presentation are: 1. Do the Jewish people have a historic claim to the land of Palestine/Israel which has greater legitimacy than other claims? 2. Is the Zionist leadership aware of the true status of their claims? 3. Anti-Zionism IS NOT Anti-Semitism 4. The Unethical and Criminal Nature of the Israeli State 5. The RACIST Nature of ZIONISM On the first day of the display dozens of people came by to view the video presentation and read the contents of the posters.
