I wouldn't normally do or ask of you guys this sort of thing, but I was told of another similar incident where doing such a thing worked, so please, read on and if you can, please do what you can to help out inshaa' Allaahu ta 'aalaa - also, your du'aa would be greatly appreciated. Here's the 411 (information): One of my close companions has informed me about one our brothers from Ottawa, along with his family is expected to be deported this 12th March 2001. The brother's name (the one to be deported) is Abu Rafa Adel Amar and he is originally from Libya and he is currently in Ottawa with his wife and children. Many of the brothers who know him personally only speak of him in a good light and they fear for his life should he be sent back home to Libya. I ask of you on behalf of my companion, the others who know Abu Rafa and myself, that you cut and paste the email that is to follow and email or send it to Elinor Caplan, the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. The reason for such a request arises from the fact that we all know that Mr. Amar's deportation is unfair and entails prosecution, torture and certain death in Libya. We are all confident that you are as sympathetic as the rest of all of us about this human issue. We also know that you as a Canadian Citizen do firmly believe that all humans regardless of their nationality or belief have equal right to seek freedom in whatever lawful manner they may deem fit and appropriate.
