Critique my website (please) !

As salaamu alaykum,

umm, I tried to become a member, but I went and forgot my username AND
password, so I gotta do this anonymously...

Ok, well, I'm making a website.  Like all others who make websites, I want mine
to be the best, most informative, clearest (and on and on).  But I can't do
that without the help of the netizens (or in this case, Madina Citizens).
I would be grateful if you could check this site (it's a test run of the how it
will actually look like) at: http://www.geocities.com/ilunat2k/
None of the links work, but the layout will be that (if all goes well).

Also, there's the Articles page at:
http://www.geocities.com/ilunat2k/articles.htm
Again, no links work, etc.

And lastly, there's an articles (by me! -- not done properly yet) at
http://www.geocities.com/ilunat2k/cancer1.htm
Just choose the next page (link at the bottom), and you'll go on the second
part of the article.

If you like it, and wanna help me out (or like to know more info, etc), then
email me back at ilunat@ntlworld.com

Thanx for your help,
Ismail Lunat

Assalamu alaikum,
Wow, why the worries - you guys have beautiful looking sites! I haven't even made a personal 'Islam page' yet. I do have an 'attempted' article at http://www.geocities.com/iisule/inthemotionsofthewinds.html (this link's becomoing notorious!).

As salaamu alaykum,

hey, I got my username and password!

I was the intial guy who started this thread (Ismail Lunat)...and I'd just like to say jazakAllahu khairan to the above two replied.

I'm glad you liked -- but is there any features you'd like an Islamic website to have?

Assalam alaykum dear sisters.

I actually tried to register but I am afraid it didnt work.
Anyways....I would like to introduce myself. My name is Gülden, I am a Muslima
from Germany. My background is turkish.
I have actually made a website for muslim women and girls in Germany. I
do want the sisters to be self confident and not getting influenced by
the treatment of the kuffar. From some posts I've read here, I noticed
that you have to face the same problems as hejjabis as we here in
Germany.
I have many sections on my site concerning working, studying,
children's education, children, news, islam, women in islam etc.
I do need some articles about sisters worldwide who studied, worked or
educated their children even. I would like to show the sisters that it
is not impossible to improve their deen and also to go to work.

So I would be very happy if just one or two of you would like to send
an Article (it can be in English of course) to me about his work, studies
etc. the important point on this article should be the "viewpoint of a
Muslima". The URL of my site ist http://www.muslima-aktiv.de

I hope I could articulate my wish.
Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah
Your sister in Islam
Gülden

assalam alaykum:

The following is a very beneficial lecture presented by Br Abu Hamza of
IISNA (http://www.iisna.com).  The lecture, entitled, "The Personality
and Objectives of Shaytan", was given last Friday at one of the several
weekly IISNA lectures, walhamdulillah.

Insha'Allah, on a regular basis IISNA will be making available online
lectures from Br Abu Hamza as well as other IISNA speakers.

IISNA are one of the major organisations calling to the authentic
Qu'ran and Sunnah in Australia, walhamdulillah. The brothers have a long
history of calling to tawheed, and in the past have brought many scholars
and du'at to the country, including, most recently, Dawud Adib, Riyad
Ansaari, Yahya Ibrahim and the student of Sheikh al-Albaani (ra), Sheikh
Adnan Aroor.

wow.. mashallah... awesome site! :) i dont know if there are other sites about tajweed out there, but this is the first one i've seen devoted solely to tajweed. i have a couple of suggestions that might help ya out:

- if you could provide audio samples to listen to, lots of people woudl realyl benefit from that.. yes i realize that a qualified teacher is needed to teach proper tajweed, but audio samples provided for reference would be awesome :)

- where you mentioned that tajweed can be learned from tape sets, if you could name some recommended sets and maybe some software availabe, and where they can be purchased.. like links to sites that sell them. or even possibly have one of these audio lessons on the site for people to download and listen to.

- i dont know what scale you plan on doing the site, but maybe a long term thing that would be totally aweosme... if you could come up with an online tajweed class... no wait! before i get yelled at ;-D ... i remember someone, br. al shareef i believe mentioned it here, he said that he sometimes gives tajweed classes to his students over the phone... so maybe if you could take that idea and possibly come up with some cool new revolutionary way to teach tajweed online! or maybe im just daydreaming, but still.. its a cool idea :)

- and also along the lines of the previous idea, maybe a sort of directory thing where people wanting to learn tajweed ad people willing to teach it can like find contatcs to eachother... maybe ???

other then that, i'd say the site is very cool mashallah... :) nice design and easy navagation (although at an 800x600 res it flows off the page slightly) and straightforward info...

sorry if i went off a tangent here... just a couple of ideas from my head :)

Asslaam alaikum,
Jazaka Allahu khairan.  Yes, I do plan on audio for the articulation
points of the letters in the next "tidbit" lesson, insha' Allah.  The
technical details have to be worked out yet.  I appreciate your comments
greatly and pray that all benefit from the site.
