Assalaam alaikum wrt, the RPI MSA has obtained some airtime on WRPI on Tuesdays at 3:30-4:30PM EST. Please tune in !!! It's 91.5 FM Today br djafar and our own lightingatnite were on and I called it.. pretty fun :) also for those of you not in the area you can listen to it live as well from www.wrpi.org listen and call in.. ask good questions, this is an EXCELLENT dawah opportunity, we finally have an opportunity to tell people about true islam.. slm Wow, I heard Sheikh Mokhtar's voice for the first time today. :)  I would have never guessed his voice sounded like that.  I'm disappointed I didn't bring my headphones today, so I couldn't listen to it all.  :(   Faisal sounded slightly different then he does in real life.  So is anyone else from the Albany community going to speak there? ???

[slm] Alhamdulillah I think it was great.. Br Mokhtar knows exactly how to handle hostile questions and even that little host guy Dennis (infidel hah!)  :)  Anyways GUESS WHAT!!!! I got it in real audio!!! Well most of it.. in the beginning I was running around my company like a chicken with it's head cut off yelling "Anyone got a radio!!!!!!!!! anyone got a digital radio!!!!?????"   I had it all set up but then the tuner didn't pick anything up for the first 5 minutes and I kept trying to tune it so I missed all the intro!! but the rest of it is there alhamdulillah and then every now and then i tried to tune it better so you might hear some static and some weird channel in the background!   next week someone else please call in!! and say where you're from and you're listening to it live from the wrpi homepage acha! ps the file is on the cool/resources page, but don't expect me to do it every week pss. hmm br abdulbasir aren't you soon to be an EX-albanyian...

A bunch of Albanyians went to visit Br. Mokhtar tonight and Alhamdulillah he looks great... He was very contemplative..very peaceful looking...and very hospitable! just looking at him and hearing him made one nostalgic :) [slm]

Al-Basha rest assured, I held no such foolish ideas about my soujourn into the Madina...it was only a matter of time of course before the Albany mafia would strike... i was just having fun with them...I might have formally introduced myself, but I didn't know any better...really...and then jannah  started making these blindsided threats for my half-hearted, innocent defense of AbuKhaled reminding me that I never intro'd myself...and then to top it off, my drinking habits were put into question publicly... sorry people, how I drink my Zamzam is my own business...my own business...don't tell me i gotta cut down...I don't have a problem ok?? Assalamu alaikum, I understand little of the last few posts -probably for the better- but I am here to comment on the original topic of the thread, insha'Allah.   I tuned in yesterday afternoon, and really liked the style of Dr. Mokhtar Moghrawi, so serene and confident.  It reminds me of that of Dr. Jamal Badawi. Jazak Allah khair to all the organizers.  BTW, in what field of study did he earn his PhD (Iam assuming he has a doctorate hence the title)?   One more thing. As the keener I am :-), I actually tuned in at 3:00 pm to get an idea of what airs on that station. There was another call-in show and guess what?? It was criticizing Bush's new policy approving government funding for various religious organizations.  He (the talk-show host) very cleverly ended his show by asking someone nearby (a producer maybe) what was next, and the answer came "It's the Muslim Radio", at which point he said "There you have it folks, the Muslim Radio is on next" in a very sarcastic tone.  Then he asked br. Mokhtar (or Gladiator?) on what they thought of the new govt policy.  Yeah right, just a random choice of topics of discussion for that earlier show! Wassalam

Mona, good point.. that guy repeatedly talks over and over again on his show about how "mozlims" keep killing people in various parts of the world and how people start wars in the name of religion and religion is the cause of it all etc.  you'll notice that he just wouldn't let go of the "point" even after br mokhtar answered twice! i guess that is the type of person we want to educate along with the rest of the world...so alhamdullah   br mokhtar has a doctorate in physics or ee or something like that ;) sigh i logged in once and left the computer i think that's when gladiator took over and created a new identity for himself pls next week call in or send an email to the producer guy to say how much you liked it!! jazaki Allah khair

Assalam ualykum, Inshallah I will try to call in next time. I'm working on getting our college a tv station. Our first show will be about misreprented groups and they are Wiccans, Communism and Islam. I know what a strange combination! anyway, I don't know what to focus on about Islam. Should I do something on the women? Terrorism? but for "terrorism" i would like to have a much longer time slot. I have 10 minutes. I have to look for someone who would defend Islam, but I want it to be somone who would be excited about representing Islam and not excited about being on TV or at least more excited about representing Islam than about being on TV. And not only that they have to know how to argue gracefully and professionaly. The last quality is the hardest to find. I will not be the moderator but will provide the moderator with questions but there is no stoping the moderator from asking his own questions. Also there will be someone opposing the Muslims standpoint. So you guys got any suggestions? Is it okay for me to post this here? :) wassalam

The prob. is that ppl are swamped by a tidal wave of propaganda against Islam, and i'm not exactly sure how much you can do in 10 minutes to talk about an issue where the Muslim has to present the issue, answer the moderator's questions & refute the misconceptions put across by the opposite guy. Or is it 3 mins 20 secs for each Wiccan, Muslim & Communist? Kashif Wa Salaam

Assalam ualykum, No everyone has a 10 minutes, the Muslim side gets 10 minutes, the wiccans get 10 minutes and then the communitsts get 10 minutes. so the show will be half and hour. So far we have a budget for half and hour only. if the college board decides that they like it then they will let the money flow and after that we can produce longer shows. so hopefully inshallah this project will be a success. I nominated our sponsor for MSA to be the person in charge over all this and he will have the final a say on all production and he isn't a hater and is very sympathetic towards the Muslims. So :) that's good for us. I'm pretty sure that he will get the position because no one else was nominated. If this goes like we planned those of you that have cable you can watch our show! :) Well I have decided that I want to do it on women. Now what do you think are the biggest misconceptions about women? Thanks a bunch. wassalam

Dude I can't be emailing 8 meg files around. I don't have any place to put them. Most free websites are like 6-10 megs max. That's 1 file!! :)

wlm I don't think it warrants the effort of transcribing. There are so many more things that should be transcribed first. Anyways just listen to it bhaloo!! I can also let people know to download it to their hard drives if it will be taken off the site.

slm Arsalan, I would recommend you read Harun Yahya's book, the Deceit of Evolution.  Its really good, and explains the problems and incosistencies with evolution.  Its a real eye opener.  I think it maybe up on his site (what was it, www.harunyahya.org ?  something like that).

wlm, if you listen live the quality is pretty good.. as for taping etc the one with auntie massarat is great b/c i was at home with my stereo.. usually i'm at work and since the building is all metal frame it gets static... if you don't call in, there is no way of knowing that there are people out there listening... kinda like life huh.. if you don't make your voice heard it doesn't count.. i really wish someone had called with a real question instead of that freak joe... anyways thanx for listening..

Did they make an announcemnt after the afternoon show because I turned it off immediately after they said it is going off air? Inshallah, I will listen to the one tonight.
