| salam alaykum,, i'm new in this program, i wish to know all of u and hope that all ur dreams come true, and inshallah ALLAH gives us the strength in this world... i'm 15 yr old boy, my name is mohd, i love fasting so much, i feel it helps me do everyitng and i feel clean, and close to ALLAH, so i wanteds to fast like our beloved prophet dawoud PBUH, but the problem was i have to fats one day and one day break my fats, i just wanted to know if i could fast friday individualy, coz, if i wanna fats one day and break one day then at time friday will come individually, so i just wanted to know, for this purpus is it 7aram , or makrouh, i already know fasting fridays alone is not good, but if its for this purpose is it still bad.. jazakum allah kheiran, wa salam... |

| [slm] Welcome to the board mohd. Are you sure you want to fast every other day? I would advise you to start slowly. How about fasting every Monday and Thursday? This is among the recommendations of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). If you insist on fasting every other day, then there is no problem on fasting on Friday. As long as you don't fast specifically on a Friday, it's fine. If you're in the habit of fasting every other day, and the day of fasting falls on Friday, you can fast on the Friday. It's just like if the Day of Arafah (9th Dhul Hijjah) was to fall on a Friday, or the day of Aashoora (10th of Muharram) was to fall on a Friday, etc. May Allah reward you for your will to imitate Prophet Dawud, and give you the strength to fast as much as possible. Ameen. Wassalamu alaikum. |

| salam... thank you so much ... hmm, hehe, fasting every other day is fine, i love fasting,, alamdilah for over a year, i've been fastign every monday and thursday, and now, since i don't eat a lot, then i'd rather fast one day and break one day,... hmm, i have another question to ask u if u don't mind...i wanna know if its 7aram to tell some1 how u feel about her..like if i have feelings for this persone, and like, can i tell her, but we don't do anything bad, just so that we know how one another feels??? this has been bothering me for a very long time.. thank you for ur time and may ALLAH bless all of u... |

| slm, welcome aboard angel.. enjoy your stay :) i've started fasting every monday and thursday to, alhamdulillah, and lemme tell you, it can make a world of difference for you. i gotta say though, its kinda harder than fasting during ramadan, cause at least then your body gets used to it for a whole month... but when you do it with a couple days gap in between, then its harder for you to adjust.. but if you do it with the right intention, then inshallah Allah will make it easier for you :) and sloe i like it cause its boring to have to eat lunch in the lunchroom at school 5 times a week.. that way i can go to the library in my school and have time to do all of dhuhr salaah. but anyway, may allah reward you for your efforts inshallah ameen :) ma'salaam |

| salam to all.. wow,,many ppl answered my anonymys msg...i feel really happy that everyone is answering my questions, and it feels even better wen ur sure that wat ur doin is ryt..:) hmm, concerning wat i snet to u guys before, me n her are very close,,we both study togetehr, and our parents are very close..i've nown her since i can remeber...we kinda grew up togtehr...so now that we both are matured, both of us are realizing and getting to know our feelings, but we don't do anyitng worng wen we're alone, coz we go out to public, and our parents allow us to ..and i have no intention of loosing her for interacting with her in that way...i respect her and respect her feelings and she respects me too.. so we're keeing all of this apart and not talking about it, and just sticking to being friends, sice we feel that thats the rite way to go, and inshallah in the future all will go smoothly the wau ALLAH wants it to go...yes, we both did istikhara, and it both came out rite... so we're hoping for the ebst,, do u guys think that this is the rite way to go??? thnaks.. wasalam....i really appreciate all of ur answers.:):):):) |

| Assalamu Alaikum, Welcome to the Board Mohd. I think it's very good that you feel clean and close to Allah when you fast. However, fasting on Fridays along is makrouh and not good. If you want to fast on Friday, you have to fast on Thursday and then Friday, or Friday and then Saturday. Meaning one day before or after Friday, not just Friday alone. InshaAllah Allah will help you become a better Muslim and get closer to him. Salam |

abd I think you misunderstood what angel said. If you fast "like the fast of Dawud", meaning you fast every other day consistently, then it's ok to fast on Fridays without fasting on Thursday/Saturday. wasalaam :) |
