| Asalaamu Alaikum ;-) So with the Islamic year rapidly nearing its end, anyone have any ideas of how/whether we should mark it within the Madina? Personally I was thinking of having something like a Most Funniest Post Poll based on all posts since the new board has been on line. Something like, choose your 3 most funniest posts, instant message them to Jannah who then posts say the top 5 out of all the posts submitted, so we can all reminisce on how funny we think we are! Just a bit of end of year fun. As Br HiMY would say what think??? |

| [slm] Br. Khalid, if you're asking for our personal opinions, I would advise against it. I PERSONALLY think that doing anything special at the end of the Hijri year is an imitation of the disbelievers, because afterall, we got this whole concept from them didn't we? Again, this is just my opinion, springing mainly from my instincts. And I don't know anything! Wassalamu alaikum. |

| [wlm] Oh trust me Br Arsalan, I totally hear you on the imitation front, hence my use of the word "whether" to cover my back ;-) Alhamudulillah in the Ummah the start of the Islamic New Year has by and large remained uncorrupted(as far as I know). Probably a bad idea to link it to the end of the year on my part. |
