Assalam Aleikum! you could go to http://www.islamicfinder.com and type zip code of any areas which would list all islamic centres in that region. Wassalam Eqbal |

wlm I am in Columbus. We have a pretty big community here, two mosques (a third proper mosque is in construction), at least two Islamic centers, and a full time Islamic school (hmm, I think upto grade 8, I have to check). Overall, it is a fairly cohesive community although sometimes they do fight :) There are two major organizations. In one the majority are indo-paks and the second has majority arabs. However, recently they have gotten along very well with board members from each organization sitting in the other. Somewhere between Columbus and Cleveland? Like Akron, Yougstown, Toledo? I don't know much of these places but I may be able to help you by asking someone inshallah.
what about ohio? spmeplace between cleveland and colombus?
|

I have a friend who went to college in Waterville, ME some years back. When she was there, she described it as being very isolated and very white. Drinking was, for most, a big part of surviving the long, dark, cold winter. It sounded a little dreary to me. It may be better now, but I'd be sure. I've seen for myself that most students in small, isolated towns have nothing to do, and therefore occupy their times with rather unislamic activities. Be sure you will have alternatives. |
