I believe that he was saying that during a tirade on Lennox Lewis right...

it is unfortunate, but it gets lost in the shuffle that he has documented psych problems, long before he even got into the limelight and up to the current day...

Assalaamu Alaikum.

Mike Tyson did say that, it was after his fight with savarese in june
2008.

his words were

Praise be to allah thier is no god but allah...

....
...
my defence is impregnable, my attack is unstaoppable, i want you heart,
i'm coming for you lennox, i'm gone rip out your heart and feed it to
you, i'm gonna eat your children...

....
....
he dont wanna fight me, he knows what he has coming..
...
...
praiese be to allah, thier is no god but allah and muhammed , peace and
blessing be upon him, is the final messenger.

Hope this clears things up for. he said this only days after his best
friend was brutally murderd, and so he was in a pretty messed up mental
state. He later apologised for his comments.

Assalaamu-Alaikum Warahmatullaahi Vabarakaatuhu!

I'm new to these boards so be nice ok! Abu Khaled how are you my dear brother? I've finally made it here!

About Tyson, Kathey i know he's not an ideal muslim, or a role model, but he acknowledges this! I remeber when he came to the uk, he sadi something along the lines of "i ask my muslim brothers not to pressure me, they need to do thier duty by giving da'wa to me, but after then they need to step back, and allow me to try and be the best i can. i know i'm not a role model"

He's a good guy, althought some will doubt that, but he is.

About his comments, they were made after the Savarese fight in Glasgow in June 2000. He just lost it completely, but you must remeber, he was in a messed up emotional state as he had just buried his friend 3 days earlier, who had been brutally murderd. Now that would have had a big affect on him

Are we talking about the boxer?

The self admitted wife beater, adulter, fornicator, ear chewer, drug using man who took shahadah?

Sister take it easy on the bro will you. Most of what he done was before he became muslim.

And you know very little of his personnal life.

White america was out to get him, he was a rich, black, famous superstar, something which infuriated the white establishment, who then set about assasinating his character, which they done succesfully.

When he became a muslim, that was the final straw. Since then they have tried to set him up numerous times, trying to "trap" him into doing something stupid.

And as for the rape thing, sister he was innocent of that, he was set up. I followed the trial, and thier was no way it was rape. But i dont wanna discuss that on a islaamic board.

I too have been confused about this issue for a long time.

Has Tyson embraced Islaam which is of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah or has he accepted the Nation of Islam?

wlm :)

Learner my dear Brother

Mike Tyson has embraced orthodox islaam. He is not Nation Of Islaam!

He has said the Shahada many times after fights, the one after the rancis fight in the UK last year he started with:

"I dear Witness that their is no god but Allah and Muhammed is the final messenger of Allah".

The Nation of Islaam i hear have a different version of this! They dont say the same shahada, what they say is Kuffar!

In Another Interview Tyson said:

"I'm waiting to die, i dont care if i die, death is my friend, because i know when i die, i'm going to Paradise"

Now the Nation Of Islaam believe that once you die, thats it. They don't believe in heaven and Hell.

So from this is certain Tyson is a Muslim. He also went to Huj in 1995!

HOWEVER some of the guys who are his body guards are nation of Islaam.

Aslamu alaikum wa rahmatullah
"because i know when i die, i'm going to Paradise"
No one knows that for sure except those whom Allah (swt) or His messanger [saw] have promised that they will.

Yes i know that, but sometimes people get a bit hot headed and excited and say things they dont realise what thier saying! Like me just now! Lol!

Give Tyson a break. He is a great fighter. And he is a muslim. End of story. If we want deen, we wont go to Tyson! If we wanna learn to fight, then we will.

Rememeber not all muslims are alims or scholars!

as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatAllah,

Just because an individual is not a scholar doesn't mean he's not responsible for his actions.  If he is not balanced mentally, then his statements/actions may be excusable.. but otherwise he's as accountable for his actions as you or I would be for our own.

We gotta be clear about where we stand on these issues, especially with someone who is so clearly in the spotlight, especially with one who associates himself with Islam so often.  Whether he is guilty of the crimes he is accused of or not, we should clarify to non-Muslims the stance Islam takes on rape and those who commit it.

wAllahu 'alam.

wasalaam.

Yes we should clarify the stance on rape.

But this guy was as innocent as innocent could be. We keep bringing rape up with Tyson, but remember he was put away for 3 years for something he didnt do.

We have to be clear on this.

If this case happned in an Islaamic court, Tyson would not have been convicted of rape. He would however have been convicted of Zina. But not for rape.

Yes i agree that we are accountable for our actions, and for what we say. But some of the sisters jump on Tyson. Why? The kaafir women hate him, because they are led around like sheep by the media who have tried to assasinate Tysons chracter. But why do the muslim women fall for this propoganda?

What if the kaafirs pounced on you? Who would you turn to? The muslims right? And what if the muslims pushed you away? how would you feel? Pretty isolated wouldnt you.

Dont push Tyson away and put him down just becvause the media which surrounds you puts him down. Remember the western media HATE the muslims, labelling them fundamentalists, and fanatics, as backwards and oppressive.

So why do you believe what they say? When tyson was in the UK last year, the media booked in prostitutes near Tysons hotel room to try and get tyson to do something! They are set on stitching this guy up.

What about Osama Bin Laadin? The media have villified him, blamed him for all kinds of things, yet they have NOT produced ONE SINGLE BIT OF EVIDENCE to link him to ANYTHING!

Should we start putting him down as well? To Us the word Jihad mean struggle. To these kaafirs it means Terrorism.

We need to stick together.
