| Asalamu aleikum! I am Muslim wife and mother, which stay at home and take care of the house(cleaing and cooking the meals) and the child. Sometimes I can became tired and bored with all that monotonous house work, changing nappies and feedeng the baby. Some time ago I came across some Hadith that explane that our work is not going in vein but I can not find them now. Please can you quote for me some Ahadith that mention our hard house work and taking care of the kids is going to be rewarded in the Next life. I would appreciate that very much as you will let my mind rest! Shukran! Keep the good work on this board!!! |

| Asalaamu Alaikum ;-) This doesn't directly answer your question but I hope it still helps ;-) [color=Blue]One of the most important ways in which the Muslim woman obeys her husband is by respecting his wishes with regard to the permissible pleasures of daily life, such as social visits, food, dress, speech, etc. The more she responds to his wishes in such matters, the happier and more enjoyable the couple's life becomes, and the closer it is to the spirit and teachings of Islam. Indeed then, May Allah grant you more reward for such supererogatory acts of kindness and generosity... To supplement some of what Br. Khalid posted, the following is an excerpt from "Women in the Qur'an and Sunna", an article by Prof. Abdur Rahman Doi which may pertain to your original inquiry. Unfortunately he does not give the sources of these reports or comment on their authenticity, so please be careful in that regard. Nevertheless, their spirit may help address your question. [color=Green]Once a woman came to the Prophet with a complaint against her husband. He told her: "There is no woman who removes something to replace it in its proper place, with a view to tidying her husband's house, but that Allah sets it down as a virtue for her. Nor is there a man who walks with his wife hand-in-hand, but that Allah sets it down as a virtue for him; and if he puts his arm round her shoulder in love, his virtue is increased tenfold." Once he was heard praising the women of the tribe of Quraish, "...because they are the kindest to their children while they are infants and because they keep a careful watch over the belongings of their husbands." | Ibn Abbas Radhiallahu anhu narrates that a woman came to Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and said: "I have come as a representative of all women. We want to present a petition to you. Jihaad is fardh (compulsory) on men and only they obtain the reward of martyrdom. We women are deprived of it although we take responsibility for all their domestic affairs". Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: "Convey this message on my behalf to all the women that they can achieve the reward of jihaad by obeying their husbands, but very few women consider this to be a reward." |
