As-salamu alakium I believe se7en, had mentioned before that her brother wanted to study aboard. My question is what about if a sister wanted to study aboard (Arabic, Islamic studies, etc.)? Are there any institues where sisters can study,(if they were traveling along, e.g. safety, accomadations and not being discriminated against since they are traveling along)? I would like to one day inshallah, next summer study aboard but unfortunately I dont have a father or brother who are muslim and im not married. So it's all about me doing it on my own :/ |

Salaam 'Alaikum I know sisters who have gone to study abroad. I discussed this once with Br. Abdullah Adhami when I was told by a (American) sh. that my presence would be a fitnah (I wasn't married at the time), that the respected shayukh of Damascus used to send their daughters abroad to study if it was something they couldn't study in Damascus. If you go to study at U. Jordan, I believe that they require single female students to live on campus if their family doesn't live near by. There are quite a few American sisters there. Ditto at al Azhar. |
