| Assalam Alaikum Brothers and Sisters, I dont know if any of you know any thing about me, but I've been studying Islam since last Ramadan, my good friend got me involved. and i've been nonstop researching since, And yesterday i finally went to Masjid, and converted. I am only 17 and my parents are very involved in their beliefs as Christians, i havent told them yet, it's hard, i know i have to, and Insh Allah, i will soon, but this morning my mom was yelling at me and saying all i do is dissapoint her, so it's going to be rough. But I'm living righteously, other than that factor. I just thought i would let you all know. Thank you for all of youre help along the way, everyones posts are so inspiring. Much Respect LiZ |

| slm, mashallah... im sure others can give you a better congrats than i can, but we are all very happy to hear that you have embraced islam... ishallah, may Allah give you the guidance to becoma a good muslimah, and we will pray for your parents to be receptive and accepting to your decision... despite the hardships you may encounter, perseverance and remembering that youre doin it all for Allah will get you through it... ok imma hush now before i say anyhting stupid :) |

| slm liz, I became Muslim just before Ramadan, and I know how hard it is to tell your family. From my own experience, however, I think it might be a good idea to tell them sooner rather than later, because not telling them made my Mom feel like I had been lying to her (which wasn't my intention at all). However, I do not know your situation, so you certainly do not have to take my advice. If in doubt about whether or not to tell them, ask Allah to guide you, and I'm sure you'll do the right thing. | asalm walakum, whether you decide to tell people or not, the importent thing is to become muslim if that is what you believe. i have a friend who became muslim recently, he is hiding this fact from his perents and people who belong to his ex religion. because they would litreally kill him if they find out. a friend of mine has a good friend who was open when he became muslim and his dad sent his brother to go and kill him, when his brother came to kill him, he gave dawa to his brother and his brother became muslim as well. you know your situation better then any one else, you have done the most importent thing already, saying shahadah there by telling allah that you except him as your only lord, and except that the messinger he sent to you was not a lier. |

| wa alaykum as salaam, liz that's awesome :) You are now my sister in faith, my rights are your rights and my duties are your duties. If you need anything let me know. About your parents... when you do tell them, try to break it to em gently. Don't throw it in their faces or tell them they'll never understand because otherwise they'll just think you're in some phase or being rebellious. Try to get them to understand why you became Muslim, why you chose Islam. I have a lot of respect for you becoming Muslim even though it was a struggle. :) wasalaamu alaykum. | asalm walakum me again, just in case your worid, you dont need to be, cause my friend who recently became muslim used to be sikh, they have it as part of their religion they should kill muslims. and my friends friend he decided to become muslim in lebinon during the civil war when muslims and christians were fighting each other. most perents like it when their kids become muslim. someof them even hold parties to celabrate |

| salam alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakaatu SISTER!!!!!!!! mashallah i feel over the moon or u - its a choice u will never regret- like a sheike said to this non-muslim man tell him to Say :laa illaha ilallah muhammad arasulullah and let him act according to it- and i will garantee him felicity in this life and felcity in the next life by the garantee of Allah and His messenger- the felicity in this life is that anything that he is commanded to do is a good(benefit) for him and anything he is prohibited is a benfit for him,in earthly wordly terms and he will see and realize that benfit if he follows it. And the felicity of the next world is that he will meet his lord after living according to the laws of his lord in this world in a pleasing and well pleased state and Allah will enter him in to the Jannah and (he said) if he doesnt believe it now he will know the truth of it in his grave so sister this garantee is for u also... mashallah sister - may Allah guide u and us to the straight path ameen nice to meet u |
