| Salam Alaykum, A brother (Kashif?) I believe posted an interesting quote from Malcolm X on the bulletin board which I am now unable to find. Something about how the movies, media (hollywood, etc.) had created unrealistic (and prehaps incorrect) notions about what are good/required actions in marriage for men (romance, etc.) Could the brother please re-post it. Is it in the autobiography of Malcolm X? Which chapter? (I have the book). Jazak allah. |

| Assalm ualykum, Sister Kathy, you should forgive your brother for his past mistakes because Allah has guranteed the forgivness of sins of converts. He was regretful for what he had said after he converted. wassalam |

| slm Ah- how fast misunderstandings can happen. It is not Malcom X's quote I am uncomfortable with- as I too have made statements in my premuslimah days that make me shudder. It is the rehashing, reposting of any negatives one of us has made that will or could give Islam a bad image- expecially to any of those venturing in this site and not knowing the whole story. Wouldn't you hate to see any of your (anyone in our community) negative wrongful or hurtful comments reappearing years later? |

Oh well, let's hope that they will read the rest of the thread and then they won't misjudge. :) man, i have made some horrible comments too, not knowing better when i was young and stupid. I would never share them with anyone! I'm so horrified at my ownself whenever i think about that. Thank God, I found Islam. wassalam |
