[slm] The winners!  The top 4 were VERY close!   [b]4th place:[/b] [color=green]Sr. Mona!![/color]  Her grand total was -1.  The +3 in bonuses helped :) [b]3rd place:[/b] [color=blue]Br. Asim!!![/color]  Looks like the champ has lost his touch a bit.  His grand total was -0.5.  The cause of his demise?  Q.10 of the 3rd part and poor performance on the bonuses.  Good job though Asim :) [b]2nd place:[/b] [color=maroon]Sr. Jannah!!!!![/color]  She was VERY close!  She lost by 1/2 a point.  Her grand total was a -0.0, i.e. a perfect score!  Q.6 of part 2 ... that's the main culprit behind her loss!   And the winner ... [b]1st place:[/b] [b][color=red]SR. SE7EN![/color][/b] Her grand total was +0.5.  She was the only person who did not miss any question in its entirety.  She got at least 1/2 credit for every question (except the bonuses).   Congratulations to the winners!!!  May Allah reward all of you for participating.  Ameen! My (bad) habit of not writing when I am not sure did me in! Enough whining :) Congrats Se7en, and..sigh..Jannah for beating me again. Alhamdulillah, we are having new winners every quiz! [slm] The number was half of what it was last time :-(  More people need to take the quiz!  I don't know what happened to all the people who took the quiz last time who did not take it this time.   I'm thinking one reason why fewer people participated is because the word list was so huge.  Maybe next time we can cover less words.  Maybe only those words that are covered from this quiz to the next quiz (?) I don't know!

And words with similar meanings. They are confusing! The other thing is that the last quiz was on a weekday. Maybe on weekdays more people log in. For example, I only see Br. Khalid on weekdays.

[slm] Asim, that's a good point about weekdays.  Since we give 24 hours for the quiz anyway, there's no need to do it on a weekend. One more thing we could do is extend the time period from 24 hours to 48 or even 72 hours! Whatever it takes to get more participation in this thing, I'm all for it.

Assalam-u-Alaikum, The reason I couldn't participate was coz i was stuck in an airplane for 7 hrs., went out with the relatives after landing in karachi and returned one seriously pooped out dude.  I wanted to do it on the 15th and hope arsalan would accept a late entry but, alas, circumstances were again unfavorable. I did it anyway and found it very enjoyable Masha-Allah (except for the possessor of goodness women translation q of course!).   Anyway, could y'all clear up some confusion: Q8 Part 2:   Eat the fruits = [b]ta'kuloo al-thamaraat[/b] Wouldn't [b]kuloo al-thamaraat[/b] or [b]kuloo min al-thamaraat[/b] be more accurate considering that it is "Eat the fruits" and not "You eat the fruits"?  Or are they both right? Q7 Part 2:  i really suppose an Arab should check this or something but for some reason the sentence just doesn't *seem* right to me.  maybe Allaha baseeru [b]bi[/b]zunoobihim is better or something, I really don't know.   Jazzak Allahu Khair Arsalan for the quiz. [slm] Uzer, you are definitely right about Q.7 Part 2.  If anyone wrote [b]bi[/b]dhunoobihim, I accepted it.  But if someone didn't write the 'bi' part, I still gave them full credit for it because this is grammar and the purpose of this quiz is not to test grammar but vocabulary from the word list.  I hope you understand where I'm coming from ... About the other question, I was strictly following the definitions of the wordlist.  'Ta'kuloo' = 'Eat' in the wordlist, not "you eat."   Usually the Arab brothers/sisters here make a correction if a Qur'anic word of the day is mistranslated.  But nobody said anything about this one so I assumed the translation was accurate. Wassalamu alaikum.
