| [slm] I have a question: Are women allowed to wear sandals that bare their feet? The reason I ask this question is because the hadith about only showing your hands and face comes to mind and it doesn't mention feet. I'd like to know what the hijabi's do in the summer when it gets warm out. Thanks for your help! [wlm] |

| Question: If a womans abiah is long enough to cover her feet does she have to wear socks? Answer: Praise be to Allaah. The Muslim woman is required to cover all of her body in front of men. Hence she is allowed to let her garment drag by being a cubit longer in order to cover her feet. What the woman has to do is to cover her feet either by wearing a loose and long garment or by wearing socks or the like. If she covers her feet then she does not have to wear socks, but if she wears socks this will be more covering, so it is recommended. And Allaah knows best. Islam Q&A (www.islam-qa.com) |

[/quote] [slm] sis i thought u were allowed to show ur feet, i was told in the arabic skool that i used to go to, that u hav to cover up to ur ancle!!! And wen i went to saudia arabia, i wore spunge sandels, my tos were reveale, i think most women did that. But maybe i am wrong, plezz corrrect me if i am!!! [wlm] |
