our mosque is on that page, i think so at least.

anyway, yeah, albright and the state department think that with things like this they will put us back to sleep and then they can keep on doing what they do without even hearing our voices of protest. But there are some people who don't even want things like that for the Muslims.

Surah al-Baqarah, Ayah 120:

Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: "The Guidance of Allah,-that is the (only) Guidance." Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither protector nor helper against Allah.

any links to half-brights comment on how the murder of 500,000 kids is something she can live with?

anybody notice how cnn is suddenly creating hundreds of new foreign language websites..

i think the website is there to gather statistical data

'half-brights' <-- that was funny :)

btw
chachi what would the statistical data do for them? 1000 ppl read the arabic version one day, 500 read the japanese etc...?  big deal... they're probably trying to increase their global reach to other nations and peoples and their main barrier right now is language. that is what we should be more worried about.  through the internet the 'american propoganda machine' will continue to infiltrate other cultures with it's own values and culture, including materialism, greed, individualism, not to mention it's media bias on who is right and who is wrong in the world.

Jannah,
Whilst Sh. Wajdi was here in London he was saying that Muslims need to look forward with regards to spreading da'wah on the internet. In specific, he was talking about a recent study that said within 2 decades or so, the language of the internet would be Chinese, yet there is not one site that we know of that caters for Islam in that language. And so, it is something that deserves some consideration by computer-literate du'aat.

PS. I don't believe i've mentioned before that Sh. Wajdi heads the http://www.alminbar.net project which aims to make khutbas on virtually any topic available to anyone who has access to the internet. At the moment the 10,000 or so khutbas that they have are all in Arabic but they intend to start translating these across to English in the future insha'llah.

wlm,

interesting kashif, that sounds like an awesome project...i wish we could put more of our resources and money into worthwhile infrastructure type of things like this. we certainly have the need now and in the future for a database like that. so many jumah jamats are springing up all over the place, on universities, in hospitals, etc and as they increase we have less and less knowledgable people giving the khutbahs :(

Salaam

Jannah it's statistical analysis to see what muslims are interested in so they can hone their propaganda efforts in the future

but i agree there is a stage reached when the level of data acquired makes it's analysis meaningless ..in the end it's like the weather a single action can create unpredictable chain reactions and the more you view the data the more it hides the reality i'm sure you can think of historical examples! i eat a donner i look at x ..i eat a delicious tandoori chicken and i look at y..etc

Kashif i suggested ages ago that we have an excellent template! a x-tian evangelical group has produced a analysis of every single group of people on earth..all we have to do is follow in their wake...lol..give them a copy of Sh. Deedats works in their language as soon as they've converted...*lol*

With regards to chinese 11% of china is muslim with the increase in contacts between china and the muslim world due to china's increased need for oil the situation should become more transparent..the future prospect is for muslim - chinese relations which have been freindly since the time of the caliph haroun ar-rashid to become closer wheras muslim - american relations will become more hostile unfortunately due to the increase in mass communications and america's actions in the middle east..remember the second world war started because america tried to prevent japan from becoming equal to the european powers by restricting it's access to oil..it's a dangerous world out there and the most dangerous situation is that involving a triangle in world politics
